Fabulous fish. Hoki is thick, fresh, crispy batter. Generous portion of chips

Would rate as the worst F & C meal I have ever had.Well and truly overcooked, and dried out. Supposed to be Gurnard and would doubt that !! Paua patties disgusting and couldn't eat. I don't recommend.

We ordered asking for our order to be ready at 6pm and still had to wait another 15min for the order once we got there. The 6 hoki fish we ordered was way over cooked, batter was very brown and way to crunchy. Pictured is 3 scopes of chips, slightly over cooked but still eatable. Other photo is the chicken pattie, bit over cooked but tasted OK. Would Definitely be choosing to go elsewhere next time.

Ordered 2 Burgers, Piece of Fish & Scoop of Chips [which we ended up just w 1/2 Scoop] Burgers were Slop... Over Run w Onions.. Buns were Soggy, not even Toasted.. One of the Burgers was the Apricot Chicken. You needed a Microscope to find the Apricot Sauce. B & E Burger was below Average. Couldn't even Eat my Burger without using a Knife n Fork. Then I didn't even Finish it. It was just a Waste of $17 for the Burgers.. Won't be Returning, Wouldn't Recommend..

I used to love going here, but tried it for a second time in years the other night. Ordered Gurnard, which I don't think it was at all. So thin and very very over cooked and dry. Second time this has happened now and not likely to go back. Chips were okay.

Best fish and chips in a long time. Elephant fish was meaty and delicious, not greasy. Chips were amazing, just like old school 'proper' chips.

I enjoy this fish and chip shop but sadly husband is not a fan of their fish 'its to thin' or something ( I don't eat fish so I'm not sure myself). The burger are delicious. Service is good considering how small and busy this shop is.

Preferred place in rangiora to get fish and chips as the chips are nice and crunchy but not oily. The fish is lovely as well not to oily but all best to enjoy nice and hot. The spring rolls are also nice. The chips we get are show string or normal with chicken salt which prove a hit with the kids. Staff are very kind and friendly. Best to order on the phone then go for pick up as very busy sometimes. Not many seating options inside (5 seats available) which usually fill up fast. Optional reading material inside on ledge whilst you wait. Car parks are limited to the parks on the street which generally are full especially around dinner time.
