   Hi ,we loved staying here, until our expensive mountain bikes were stolen, and yes they were secured to the tree on our site, the camera didn't work in our area, not that a camera is much help , time to upgrade the security, all bikes should be on your vehicle at all times. This theft is a shame for the camp and the community.

   First time with the caravan and we forgot our mallit for the awning. Went to reception no bother to borrow one. The toilets and showers are lovely and clean and the setting is tremendous. A super holiday.

   This campground is about a 25-minute drive from Christchurch. The staff at the information desk were friendly and helpful, and the campground is very close to the beach. The beach is a three-minute walk away, and the facilities were very neat and clean. Of all the campgrounds I've been to, the toaster in the kitchen was the cleanest, showing that even the smallest details were taken care of. I highly recommend this campground and will definitely be back. It wasn't quite midsummer when I stayed, so it was relatively quiet, but I imagine it would be busier in peak summer due to its proximity to the beach.

   Price jumped from $25 a night to $50 a night in less than 12 months — a clear case of price gouging. Update in response to the owner: Appreciate the reply. The so-called upgrade brings the park up to the basic standard of other campsites in the area — that’s maintenance, not added value. Doubling the price while claiming market alignment is opportunism, not improvement.

   Perfect stay for me, stayed for over a week. Room nice clean and up to date. Nice close to the beach. Only 30min drive to Christchurch city centre 10min to rangiora where you can get everything you need. Had plenty of questions for the staff what all have been answered. Overal a very good stay and will be back.

   Dog friendly camping area seperate from main camping area. Tidy clean & friendly. Only a few metres to beach. Good biking trail nearby. Ashley River close by. Family friendly.

   The new owners are making a huge effort to improve the camp ground fixing up the small things that have been neglected. The grounds were neat and tidy, kitchens and toilets were nice and clean and staff friendly and approachable. Plenty of walks including along the river stop bank and north and south on the beach. There are life guards at the Waikuku Surf Club in the summer season with flagged areas to swim if you have kids. We had a really nice stay. Cheers M
