   I was visiting from Australia and Hi5 Island Food in Frankton was incredible! The chop suey and chicken were absolutely delicious - packed with flavour and made with high quality ingredients. Portions were generous, prices were great, and the service was fast and friendly. This place is a real hidden gem, and I’m still thinking about that meal. I’d definitely go back!

   The kai is delicious but their open hours are not always accurate like today for instance, its 2pm says its open but drove there and its closed. Waste my petrol.

   Drove from Auckland and stopped here for lunch before heading to the caves. The taro leaves and meat, and chicken Curry was sensational! The BBQ lamb rib was also really tender, even if it was a bit fatty. I had to choose between Hamilton Gardens and this, and I'm glad I came here instead. That have a 2 choice combo or 5 choice combo, not listed in store but listed on their website. Great way to try a few things.

   We found this hidden gem completely by chance, looking for a quick lunch in the city being just arrived in Hamilton as tourists. Turned out to be the perfect choice! The food was amazing, we tried almost everything they offered and as I was ordering a dessert, my husband took another portion of lamb with taro leaves. The price is really too good for the quality of the food, we paid 20$ a box with 5 different dishes and it was pretty enough to feed two people. If we could give it 6 stars, we would!

   3 or 4th time coming here , island donuts are amazing . Awesome surimi. People complaining about price increase. That's inconsequential due to the cost of purchasing food for sale . Chicken , pork , Lu was awesome when had it . Was even better the next day . If you can't afford good food go buy 5 dollars chips and a loaf of bread.

   Like others and I have eaten the lu as well, filled with fat and bones with hardly any meat. They hardly have taro or banana available and prices are outrageous. If they were competing in South Auckland with their menu, they would have been out of business. Quite frankly, I don't understand why they still are in business. Really disappointed with this island food shop and it's the only one in Hamilton. Maybe they need competition to up their standards? Have also done their Uber, they have sent food that I didn't order to make up for what they didn't have, instead of letting me know or giving me the option to decide whether I wanted the food or my money back. The only good experience was the first time I bought from there, when it first opened.

   Sharing my experience 1st time trying the lu wth lamb all i got was bones. Pineapple pie pastry was not cooked. The otai was warm would of been nice if it was cold as it was a hot day. Sadly the next day woke up with a very sore stomach vomitting and diarrhoea unpleasant day for me.
