Terrible customer communication. Asked for a package deal for my children and was told I could swap out 6 mini spring rolls for 6 chicken nuggets. When I phoned to query it, they said, “one chicken nugget is the equivalent of 6 spring rolls.” If that been explained before, I would have kept the spring rolls.
I’ve been to almost every fish and chippy in Hamilton and golden bell is one of my favourites. The Kumara chips are top notch and the food is just generally tasty. Cant really beat them on price either. Lovely hard working family that owns the business. Honestly reminds me of when I worked in my family’s fish and chip shop. Oh and the smorgasbord is awesome too.
Fish and chips are nice! Many choices in smorgasbord. Even price has increased, still acceptable. Highly recommended.

Had the $25 combo with $4 chips. I could count with 2 hands the individual chips included with this combo.
Against my better judgement thought i would give our local takeaways 1 last try and what a waste of money, i ordered over the phone what was on the menu and was given half a different order apparently prices and packs changed yet they failed to update or double check with customer over phone, over $50 order it was cold soggy and not even correct order. Lady on the phone doesnt bother to read back order just hangs up the phone. This has happened to us multiple times now and they never rectify their mistake, they are happy to take our money over $50 every order and even over charge us and yet when wrong wont offer a solution. Last time there ordered $19 of food was charged $31 never given a refund or anything after being told she would sort something.very sad this is how they treat their loyal local customers. Dont waste your time going here!!
Chips were good fresh enough and well salted. Toasted sandwiches tasty with surprisingly nice ham (however got two when only order one which is frustrating). Mini samosa exactly what you would expect from the bulk bags at supermarkets. Fish decent size and well crumbed didn’t come out too oily. Corn fritters a little bit disappointing as they were falling apart and a bit old feeling.
