   At last a top quality Chinese restaurant for North Canterbury. Lovers of Chinese food in Amberley, Kaiapoi, Rangiora, Woodend and elsewhere are warmly recommended to try Mifan. We ordered three dishes from the menu to determine exactly how good they are. We chose Honey Walnut Diced Beef Fillet, Char Siu [barbecue pork with hoisin sauce] and - in preference to rice - Prawn Ho Fun (flat rice noodles) Whilst there is clearly a strong Cantonese influence in many dishes the menu is not limited to this cuisine. Loved all three of our dishes but needed to take some of each dish home as the portions were generous. Our waitress offered to put them in three separate containers which was extremely thoughtful and indicative of the service we received overall. We will be back, PS They do takeaways....

   The food was absolutely delicious. I had the deep-fried crab thingy, the crab was so creamy and lovely. For the main I had beef with mushrooms, onion, and honeyed walnuts, it came with a melt in your mouth weaved basket. Both dishes were different and a bit special. Portion size was generous, we had leftovers. I didn't like the booth, it needs pillows, next time I'll ask for chair seating. Price was very reasonable. Highly recommend.

   Great food! Nice and fresh. Tender beef fillet. Loads of chicken in the chicken fried noodles. Great service, staff walked outside to hand our takeaways to us. Pictured is the beef fillet, satay chicken, chicken fried noodles, waffle fries, wontons and fried chicken. Fed 4-5 adults and 3 small kids under 5.
