   We had an absolutely wonderful stay! The accommodation is in a stunning, peaceful location and looks exactly like the pictures – it's even more beautiful in person. Everything was clean and furnished with great attention to detail, so we felt incredibly comfortable from the very first moment. The owners are incredibly warm and helpful people, and you can immediately tell that they truly care about their guests' well-being. There really is absolutely nothing we could complain about – it was perfect in every way. We would definitely love to come back again!

   We had a lovely stay in the guest suite at Okauia House. Centrally located in the North Island with good roads connecting it, Matamata was the ideal location to base ourselves for several days. Very quiet location only a few minutes out of town, which has a good selection of restaurants and supermarkets etc. The host Miriam was friendly welcoming and helpful, even their cats came to say hello. The suite is modern, spacious and had everything we needed. There’s even a set of Lord of the Rings DVDs to watch, which you will feel like doing after the Movie Set tour. It was a super comfortable stay and will be back next time we’re on the North Island.

   We stayed at Okauia house, Matamata for 3 days. We had the most incredible time at Okauia House – everything exceeded expectations. The house is beautifully designed, spotless, and equipped with everything you could possibly need for a relaxing getaway. Spacious outdoor view allows you to see the rainbow(we did see a big one), aurora(if you are lucky). The hosts were warm, welcoming, and went out of their way to make sure we felt at home. The location is perfect – peaceful and private, yet close enough to explore the best of the region. The location is close to the famous tourism spot - Hobbiton™ Movie Set & Rotorua. And it is 5-minute drive to the Matamata shopping centre. I mostly like the bathroom and its shower room with 3 different shower heads from different directions. Highly recommended place if you like a quiet and private place to stay. We can’t wait to come back!

   Had the last night of our honeymoon here, it is gorgeous and amazing and beautiful, the shower is god tier, the hosts are amazing and made the experience a dream, setting up the hot tub for us while we were out for dinner. A must stay.

   A tasteful, peaceful, near new and luxurious space, with a charming country outlook. We enjoyed the sunset view from the private outdoor dining area. The bed is large and super comfortable, the huge shower is incredible, with water jets in the wall,, as well as having a normal shower. The wonderful hosts are welcoming, sympathetic, and generous. It's totally worth making a detour just to stay here. We have stayed twice so far, and would definitely recommend this lovely place to friends.

   Great location - close to Matamata and Hobbiton as well as down the road from the Hauraki Rail Trail which were the reasons we stayed at Okauia House. Miriam, the host, communicates promptly and is extremely accommodating! Beautiful views, amazing shower, clean, heated floors in the bathroom, kitchenette with treats and cereals. Honestly couldn't ask for more! They also have a friendly, beautiful cat that gave us a visit :)
