   A very special villa with lovely vibes! Everything is designed with style, charm and big love. We regret that we stayed there one night only, it was unforgettable! The breakfast was served like in a palace, the view from the villa is breathtaking. Beds are comfy, design is WOW. One of the most remarkable experiences we had in New Zealand!

   Absolutely a fabulous place! One would think walking into a mansion from the 18th century. Not only the house is incredible, french decorations, mind blowing views, huge room, tastefully furnished, all top notch, but to top it all, our host Lukas really looked after us, so attentive and hospitable, making tasty canopies and serving them with fantastic NW wines. The owner Wayne had time to chat with us, telling all about the history etc. If you ever plan to stay anywhere near Tauranga, do not miss this place, words cannot describe this incredible place. Thank you Lucas and The French Country House, will always remember this place

   Absolutely stunning spot to explore the area around Tauranga with incredible personal service provided by Lukas our host! This guest house was thoughtfully designed after the great French country houses of Europe, and is very true to the traditions of Kiwi hospitality. Lukas scours the grounds to find beautiful blooms and bits of nature he would add to our morning table with a glorious view over the valleys below. I recommend this spot highly as a means to escape impersonal commercial hotels, and receive great guidance on finding the best possible trails, activities, and special events in the area…

   What a wonderful place in NZ. We loved it so much here, it's an absolutely beautiful property, the rooms are amazing and the shower is wonderful. We were greeted and hosted by our incredible host Lucas, who made sure out stay was perfect. We would love to come visit again!!! Wayne, please don't sell this beautiful house, we want to come back!!    The house is as wonderful as our host, Anne. She welcomed us warmly with a cheese board and wine and served us a tasty breakfast the next morning. Her wealth of knowledge and expertise about the area lead to many great recommendations of things to do and see on our journey of NZ. My wife and I stayed in the farm view room which was a great romantic room with great high ceilings and natural light. Can’t recommend this place enough. Thanks Anne!

   Great hotel. It is bright and spacious. Quiet surroundings and a great view. Rooms are large and well equipped - we had a top of the line Kohler spa bath in ours. Service by Kay and Billy was super friendly and attentive. We got to feed the ponies, donkeys and horses next door. Breakfast was sumptuous and tasty. Only fault perhaps is the small number of rooms, but potentially you could 'take over' the place with an extended family group.

   Our trip to the French Country House could not have been more perfect. We arrived for our honeymoon the day after our wedding to a very warm welcome from Kay & Billy and we were immediately in awe of the house & property - it is so beautiful! We were so busy with wedding prep that we hadn't had time to make any plans for our stay but it was Kay to the rescue with many thoughtful suggestions of nearby walks, cafes and restaurants so we could make the most of our time away. Not to mention the delicious breakfasts whipped up each day by Kay! We thoroughly enjoyed our time at the French Country House and we can't wait to return.

   Had the best time at The French Country House and keep on talking about it with my wife, even though it’s been a year since we stayed. I originally booked us for 1 night, but after arriving, we changed it to 3 nights. It was such a great choice and made our stay in New Zealand something really special beyond what we could have imagined. Must return ASAP!
