   Gave them a second try despite the first visit being poor. The food was OK, nothing amazing. Our wait staff were really good. I'd signed up to the app which told me I could receive $8 off. However the QR code wouldn't scan at the counter and the staff mistakenly told me it was a $10 off on next visit (which I am to also get according to the app). It doesn't have the same atmosphere as Joe's Wigram so am unlikely to return in the foreseeable future.

   Over the last two months I have been having lunch at Joe's Garage Rolleston. Sometimes twice a week. Most times we have had the privilege of having Brianna as our waitress. I found her to be very obliging with a great enthusiastic personality that makes you feel relaxed. I like the choice of music albeit a tad too loud on occasion. Toilets need some maintenance. Taps without appropriate handles and sometimes a absent of handsoap. Felt sorry for one of the girls when I went to pay as the POS was unoperational this clearly is a problem I thought management should have had sorted. Great variety on menu. It would be nice to have some smaller sweets to choose from to have with coffee. Small hygienic enclosed cabinet would be great. I agree with a previous review that made reference to the uncomfortable wooden seats. This is why patrons gravitate to the booth seats. Cook does a fantastic poached egg.

   Weekly visits. Always our first go to option. Lots of gf options and the drinks are the best as they use real fruit (frozen) for the drinks not syrup. Awesome food and service

   Solid spot for a pint and classic Kiwi comfort food. Tap beer was ice-cold and clean — you can tell they take care of it. Fish & chips? Crisp like tempura, light like beer batter. Flaky fish, hot chips, and the aioli? Chef’s kiss. Joe’s Garage Rolleston knows how to keep it simple and good.

   Amazing experience. The food was spot on, well presented and tastes absolutely amazing. Iced Latte was the best I’ve ever had. Customer services outstanding and reminded us that often in most unexpected places is where you find the best food and beverage gems. Thank you to the chef and staff for a fulfilling satisfying service.

   Stopped in for brunch on our way home from Christchurch. Great coffee, friendly service. No poached eggs as an option was a bit unexpected but did not detract from fresh, tasty brekkie with added mushrooms. Husband enjoyed his schnitzel and chips, great winter comfort food.

   Second time recently we have had very average breakfast. Ordered scrambled eggs with bacon and got thin omelette instead which was dry. Tried to explain this to waitress who argued with us and was finally told that’s how they do scrambled eggs. If you can’t do scrambled eggs then take it off your menu, especially when other restaurants in Rolleston can. Won’t be back

   Great tasting food but found the bacon portion very small and the Chicken small in my partners burger. Service was great. Trendy Decor and an outside area.
