   Great country location, and the rebuild is hugely successful. Service prompt and food delicious. A little hot though , perhaps improved with air conditioning. Very suitable for groups.

   We had our parents birthday here. What an amazing place for children and adults to enjoy. Sam was an amazing host, she took pictures for us and was just wonderful. All the staff were amazing. Nothing was too much trouble. It was a beautiful afternoon and Vilagrad made it something very special for us to remember for a long time

   The very best venue, food, service, atmosphere for my 60th luncheon. Sam and the team were efficient, cheerful, and so helpful. My mum had a medical event and they were onto it straight away. All my friends and family raved about the devine food, and the great staff too. You get some great photos there with the light and atmosphere. I thought its great value for money too. No complaints from us. Keep up the great Vilagrads we all know and love

   we went for lunch on saturday, delicious homemade food. Variety of lamb, pork and fish. Good selection of wines and beers. Well worth the drive if you are heading to Matamata from Auckland.

   My wife and I visited for a Saturday lunch while on vacation in New Zealand. Although it was winter and the last leaves had just fallen from the grape vines, it was a beautiful location. More importantly for our visit the hospitality, wine, and food were all spot on. In terms of the wine, we tried both the Vilagrad Cabernet blend and the 3 Brothers Pinot Noir. We enjoyed both. The Cab had more berry notes, while the Pinot had more cherry and stone fruit notes. The buffet lunch was excellent. Our service included roast pork, lamb, and fish. We did not try to the fish ourselves, but we both really enjoyed the roast lamb and pork. The desserts served with the lunch were practically a meal in themselves. We noticed throughout our trip that New Zealanders love their sweets and this spread certainly did not disappoint. All in all, we would highly recommend the Saturday or Sunday lunch to couples, families, or groups. The location, hospitality, food, and wine are well worth it. The location and facility also looked like a great venue for parties or weddings.

   We went with Glenbrook railway and had buffet lunch there. The food is ok but one of the staff is very rude. I was standing in the queue to get some food for my son. The staff came to me and said “you can’t take the second plate as some people have not had the first plate yet.” I was shocked and said to her , “I am taking the second plate for my son, the first plate is for myself. What’s the problem? “There were plenty of food on the table. I don’t understand why we cannot take the second plate at a buffet restaurant? My daughter felt embarrassed and accused so she went back to the table without any food. She only had one plate of salad and some dessert for $99! She felt very hungry on the train in the afternoon. I am very disappointed with the service and their arrogant attitude, not recommend!
