   Super loved the huge range of beers on tap (sadly only had capacity for one - Weasels Ripped My Flesh - but I had good reports from the other half). My main was beyond anything I could have expected to find in a brewpub: tofu wrapped in nori, deep-fried, and served as a burger with pickled red onion, slaw and sesame mayo - the Mapo Zedong. The combination hit ALL the right notes and felt truly inspired. There was one issue which was an occasional extremely salty patch - seemed to me someone wasn't careful with seasoning the burger. My tablemates also enjoyed their mains (fish tacos, and chicken burger, with clever menu name - Friar Cluck). Again, a slight miss with other things, as the corn chips queso was not inspiring (hand made tortilla chips - too oily - with an oddly grainy cheese sauce laid over which was quite plain). Bonus points for the dog friendliness of the venue!

   Moon is our very beloved local. After spending the last week in Auckland struggling with a severe lack of good beer options, we are excited to get back home to our local! Matt always has an ever changing wild and wonderful selection on tap. The menu is simple but perfectly executed and delicious! Offering beer floats and gin flights, they have something for everyone. The friendly staff and the customary table sharing makes for a wonderful neighborhood feel. And did I mention the pup friendly vibes!?! Great beer and free pats make for wonderful afternoon!

   With no information online about the beer tasting paddles (incl cost) and the menu omitting part of the Moon board info, I was advised to make a booking for a table after mentioning our intention through a few FB messages. I cannot thank you enough for the recommendation to book a table as we would not have been able to enjoy ourselves as much as we did without a booking. Having wanted to come here for some time (we live an hour out of town), Moon Under Water (as far as my extensive research allowed) is the ONLY place in Christchurch that offers beer tasting paddles, a cheese board AND board games to play. The tasting paddles did not disappoint and the Moon board (see menu attached) was delicious. I would recommend avoiding the curry fries though if you have a sensitive stomach ;) Being that it was my turn to plan our regular Date Night, I am so glad that we have finally managed to stop by and look forward to stopping by again soon. Thank you. We were especially grateful to have one of the team move the people from our reserved table so we could enjoy ourselves fully.    After hearing about this place from friends and seeing the posts online, my partner and i decided we would give it a go. Wow, the staff were lovely, the food was incredible and the vibe was great. They have lots of options to cater to gluten free and dairy free and they aren’t half assing it either, both the tacos and the chicken i had tasted the same as my partners regular non gluten and dairy free food. Spot on guys, we will absolutely be returning!

   We pass by Moon Under Water every day and always see a lot of people there. Finally, we got a chance to try it out. The craft beer was great, and the food was nice too. Even though the Wagyu beef patties were overcooked, the burger was still surprisingly enjoyable. Paua slider on the special menu was quite bland not much flavour.

   Lovely little local pub. Delicious pizza ( we had the pear and walnut one) and a great selection of beers. Extremely dog friendly, with snacks and lovely vibes from the staff.

   Drinks are good. A nice atmosphere. Chicken was burnt and pork bites were tough. The bugers were good though. Would be nice if after dinner drinks could be drank without looking at all the dirty dishes on the table. Huge error to leave dirty dishes on the table for at least 45 minutes. Gross .

   Seems like a nice bar, but we won't be coming back. Great atmosphere and a huge amount of positive reviews from kindly locals. However the place is severely let down by the tall male staff member who does a great line in looking through, around and past you while delivering belittling smart arse lines to make you feel small. We'll be taking our money elsewhere.
