Major home run here. This place is really nice and especially at the price. Clean and mostly new. If we return to Christchurch this is where we are going to stay.
Only a short stay but it very good. The rooms are a good size, quiet and very comfy. The staff were very helpful when we needed them. There is public transport available nearby and the walk to the city is easily doable. There are plenty of shops and eateries within walking distance. I would definitely recommend if you're looking to stay on the edge of the city
Top motel in Christchurch. Would highly recommend to anyone. Staff were welcoming. Price was great. Beds were comfortable. Room was modern and clean. Rooms were soundproofed from the busy road outside, hardly heard a thing. Easy walk to Westfield Riccarton and nearby restaurants and bars. Just a quick drive into the city down nearby Blenheim Road. Thanks for a great stay.
I would like to have given it 5 because it is a good, clean motel that provides a lot but, the walls are so thin that conversations in surrounding rooms are easily heard and I'm sure that our neighbours would have heard our very early morning departure. Otherwise it was a good stay.
Our stay at the Golden Rule in Christchurch was great. The room was clean, comfortable, and perfect for a short stopover. We arrived after midnight, and the staff were incredibly accommodating — they arranged for self entry into our room, which made our late arrival completely stress-free. They also kindly allowed us a slightly later checkout, which was very much appreciated. The location was convenient, within easy walking distance of a mall for snacks and breakfast. The price was very reasonable for our stay. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a simple, clean, and well-managed place to stay in Christchurch.

Amazing motel to stay at, exceptionally clean, comfortable and very helpful owners. This will now be our go to motel while staying in Christchurch. Assisted really well when my son came to Christchurch and stay while he was attending a course for work. Really appreciated their help.

Our accomodation was a welcome beginning for our New Zealand holiday, Room was very clean and spacious, kitchen was well set up .Nice bathroom hot shower . We arrived very early in the morning, they made it very easy to check in . Location is ideal for buses and walking distant to shops
Stayed at Golden Star Motel twice - one night between Coastal Scenic and TranzAlpine trains and few nights after. Convenient location. Close to train station, airport, walking distance to Botanical gardens and City Centre. Very new motel with good quality interior and finishes. Service was prompt and good. Definitely stay at this motel again.
