We went the Saturday after Christmas and the place was empty, team and train not running. The post office was open and the telephone exchange, which was quite interesting. Book the printing workshop in advance -- it looked quite cool with various presses to try out. Otherwise, the print workshop is only open on Saturdays. There is no food except crisps and ice cream for purchase, so bring your own lunch and snacks

Great visit thanks to the volunteers keeping this running. Support this marvellous place, an-example of how the β€œold timers” lived. Brent at the model trains was particularly interesting. I hope the government can also see the value and start the funding once again.

Great fun. Very enjoyable and well preserved. More people should come here to support the restoration projects

We had our wedding ceremony and reception at Ferrymead heritage park and the team were so wonderful to deal with. Making sure we were all sorted leading up to the day, checking in day before and after and being so open to what we were allowed to do. This heritage park is truly a magical backdrop for your wedding and photos with such a variety of places to get them done. We absolutely loved the chapel for our wedding; it didn’t need much it was such a sweet venue and the outdoor area was perfect for a wee cocktail hour. The hall had such a wide-open space that is like a blank canvas with the kitchen being incredibly handy. So grateful for such a beautiful place in our city.

This heritage museum at Ferrymead was operated by many enthusiastic elders whom want to share their memories to all of us. You can find so many unbelievable collections that some of them were donated from different people. They paid a lot efforts to maintain it and provided a very fantastic place to let us enjoy! I really appreciated their attitudes as we shall be recall some memories from their collections, old cars, farm equip, air planes, lots of things…. Must go!

Avoid this July! My experience was really disappointing and I believe it was a waste of my money. It's a mess. Attending at night for the illuminate event will probably be better. My score doesn't reflect on the front of house staff at the main entrance and train driver who were all warm and friendly.

Ferrymead Heritage Park is a great place to learn about Christchurch' history. The staff are knowledgeable and friendly, and the exhibits are well-maintained. We had a great time exploring the park and learning about New Zealand's life style in the old day. We would definitely recommend a visit to Ferrymead Heritage Park to anyone interested in learning more about New Zealand's past.

Absolutely brilliant place to visit. Used to be a real life village back in the day. Not only can you see home and shoes how they used to be and the different appliances you get to see museum's of various things. So interesting. We'll worth the visit. Be prepared to spend quite some time there. There is a lot to see.

Absolutely fantastic. Hours of fun and fairly priced. We went on a week day and was very quiet, probably better at weekends when more events on and train is running. Would also recommend you bring a picnic as there are limited offerings at the cafe (front desk). Interesting for both adults and children, really recommend.
