Bought GF fish and chips for my daughter who has multiple food allergies (dairy, gluten, eggs, nuts). She was able to enjoy her fish and chips without any fear. The shop has dedicated GF fryer and the owner is very understanding. Safe for people with allergies. A++
The fish was fresh and delicious. Chips were great too. All a bit too oily though & would have preferred slightly longer draining of the oil. Waiting time was ok & portion size is ok. Customer service is soso.
Great classic fish n chips. Exactly how we imagine it to be, nice and fresh, not too salty and super hot! Great portions too! Definitely enough for two people. Deep fried mars bar was also went down a treat
Fish & Chips were great! Had the gluten-free option and was pleasantly surprised. Will definitely come to try the NGF menu next time!
We got the Gurnard and Tarakihi - both were delicious (two fish I hadn’t tried before). Service was quick. Dedicated gluten free options and menu as well (they use a separate fryer from what I could tell).

Telephoned through an order which was ready when we arrived. G/f battered snapper was fresh, crispy & delicious as was the crumbed snapper & chips. Excellent, generous portions & great value. Highly recommend.
This was a good meal of fish n chips. The snapper tasted very fresh and the batter was YUM! All the battered mussels were fresh and delicious. The chips were good. The sausages were perfectly cooked. And the pineapple fritter was nice. The only 2 things I didn't like were the squid rings, (which I won't be ordering again), and the price. But its hard to find good quality fish & chips these days so I guess you'll have to spend a bit more than usual to save yourself from disappointment. Thanks The Chip Shop for your good standards. Keep it up. We will be coming again soon.
I have not had fish and chips in years! The Chip Shop does a solid glutenfree fish and chips, and they have a separate GF menu and we're knowledgeable about gluten. Wash it down with a Bundaberg gingerbeer and you are doing it right!
An award winning chip shop... they sell chips and fish separately or you can get a meals which include your choice of fish, salad, eggs and sauce. Fish is fresh and the chips are amazingly crispy. And best thing is they offer gluten menu. The owners are a friendly couple who's happy to chat with customers.
