Absolutely lovely experience. We stumbled across this place looking for dinner options whilst in Christchurch and boy are we glad we came. We were looked after by James who was a stellar host and made great recommendations on the menu. He was knowledgeable and explained in detail the source of the foods when asked. We started with aperitivos and worked our way through every part of the menu (starters, mains, sides, desserts and a digestif) Each course was absolutely on point. Food was delicious, you could tell the seafood was fresh and delicately flavoured. The main act was the tomahawk which was cooked to perfection. No sauce needed as the meat was tender and flavoursome on its own. What a wonderful experience with great food and great service. Highly recommend!

Delicious and amazing. Great atmosphere. Amazing server however we were not asked if we wanted another drink outside of water so we just had the one! Missed opportunity but still would go back anytime.

We absolutely love this place! Every time we fly to Christchurch, this is our go-to steakhouse β€” and after four visits, it continues to impress us every single time. The steaks are cooked to perfection, the sides are just as impressive and the service is consistently outstanding. It never fails to deliver a top-notch dining experience. Definitely worth every penny. Highly recommend if you're in Christchurch.

This is a 114-dollar aged steak. We ordered a medium-rare steak, but it took 50 minutes for the dish to be served. As you can see from the picture, it was the medium-rare steak that I had waited for for 50 minutes. Eating such a steak in a not-cheap Western restaurant was beyond my expectations. We asked the waiter for an explanation, and the reply we got was that their restaurant serves it as medium-rare like this. There was no apology at all. We could still see the chef smiling with racial discrimination in his eyes because we were sitting in the position next to the kitchen. It really opened my eyes. This is clearly a medium-well steak.

Food and service equally outstanding! Enjoyed the tartare and dry aged steaks. So tender and flavorful with the crust that formed outside the meat. The marrow went well with the steaks. The dessert was also superb! We ordered the sorbet expecting a scoop of sorbet on a glass but what we got was a masterpiece. The meringue and fruits went so well with the sorbet, it has set a new benchmark. Our server, James, was so attentive and truly spent the time explaining the menu, listening, and ensuring we had a great experience and not just a meal! What a gem. Hands down the best restaurant of our NZ trip this year. The prices reflect the quality of food and level of service. Wish we discovered this place sooner. Looking forward to coming back here on our next trip.

If you want a good steak in Christchurch, it is the place to go. They have a few options of aged steak. We ordered the tomahawk, it is pretty good. For dessert, all of us think the Chocolate Marquise is the best

In summary: This is a good steak restaurant that falls a bit short in every aspect. Sourdough for example. It comes out as toast, and was effectively pane di casa more than a sourdough. Given it’s $14 I’d expect it to be the best sourdough I’ve had with a high quality butter. It wasn’t to be. Then with the steaks. They unfortunately didn’t have half of the ones on the menu. Bit of a shame. The steak I did get was the dry aged t-bone. Well cooked with a lovely crust and great seasoning. Quality of the beef was good but certainly not a the top level, mainly due to the texture. The sides (cos salad, croquettes and carrots) were good, but nothing that blew us away. The service was really friendly, but the staff weren’t very attentive. We had a great night, but everything just fell a bit short of expectations.

Extremely enjoyable dinner. The 37 day dry-aged ribeye on the bone (500g) and the lamb tenderloin on the bone (400g) were excellent, with the lamb being a particular stand-out. The addition of bone marrow adds a creamy dimension to the meats. The sides of the duck fat potato croquettes and the freekah salad were also tasty. Service was good as well.

Excellent service. The oyster and beef tartare entrees were excellent and steak very flavourful. We liked that bone marrow was served with the steak - great touch. Unfortunately the desserts were unusual and not very nice which was a bit of a let down after a lovely evening. Excellent wine.
