Wonderful Mediterranean Barbecue! The skewers were expertly grilled over the BBQ and were flavorful and juicy. The jalapeño poppers were tasty. The kumara fries were crispy and well-seasoned. Genuine Mediterranean flavor, and welcoming service. Strong flavors and excellent BBQ are highly recommended!
Oh, what an awesome place. We were looking at the menu outside during the afternoon when two different complete strangers told us how good the food was. So, we booked a table for dinner. It was the best Mediterranean food any of us ever had. The servings were all really generous, the taste delicious and our server was lovely. Please, give this place a try. Chief did an awesome job.
The food was full of flavour, perfectly grilled meats, fresh salads, and amazing sauces that reminded me of authentic Middle Eastern street food. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and the staff were genuinely friendly and attentive. You can tell they take real pride in their cooking and service. If you’re in Christchurch and want something tasty, generous, and freshly made, Mashawe is definitely the place to go. Highly recommend trying their mixed grill and falafel, you won’t be disappointed!
Awesome. Absolutely brilliant. It was the most tastiest shawarma I’ve ever had, Australia, Middle East or New Zealand. Hands down. Service was great - friendly - homey. Decor is great too. I will recommend this place to all locals and travellers. Well done!

Visited this place 2 days ago , with the family . The quality of meat is excellent , and you get excellent Middle Eastern food . The Kebabs , the falafel and even sandwiches such as the burger are excellent. The tables and the restaurant are very clean. Surely will visit again if next in Christchurch . Thanks for the excellent service .
The only place open between lunch and dinner time on regent street that serves hot food. The waiter look really serious and had no smile. The food was cooked from the waiter, so maybe he is more of a cook. When we arrived there was no staff outside, so who knows how many others there are.
Amazing spot with delicious and authentic tasting food. A wide range of delicious BBQ'd options with lots of meat. The lamb chops were outstanding!
Seriously good food. Delicious, full of flavour. Was an absolute treat to sample the share for two appetisers. The hummus was divine! Highly recommend.
