Absolutely the worst experience ever. Worst door staff $25 door charge and there were only 3 people in there most of the night. All staff are so so rude. An absolute bust. Heard its going under so no Gay bar for CHCH. Anything but Cruz

The only good thing about this place was the bouncer and the barman, clearly the owner has issues with the way he treats his staff and the community. The place is dead and the owner hovers around being strange, itβs a shame this is the main club for the city someone needs to open another venue.

Bouncers are ironically quite discriminatory. I've been there before no issues. But dressed up in Halloween gear apparently wasn't ok. And my partner who was sobar was accused of being on drugs because of a little fave paint. Do better guys, you look like massive, arrogant hypocrites. Your drinks and entertainment isn't good enough for that. Oh well, plenty of other places to go.

I think this place gets an unfair level of judgement. We have been several times in the last 2 weeks and always had a really fun night, the downstairs is being refurbished but the upstairs seems to be recently updated. They're open late, have a really good diversity of people that go there, and have friendly staff. Do they charge a door fee? Yes. But lets be honest, if you cant afford $15 to get into a club, maybe its time for you to go home haha.

I would honestly barely even rate this bar a 1 star. My friends and I were here and the DJ/owner of the bar was so unbelievably rude after my friend opened a window. We got kicked out of the bar for this. Just before we got kicked out I went to confront him to apologize for this and he was so incredibly rude to me and yelled at me telling me not to confront him. We were the only patrons in the bar at the time and we had just bought probably hundreds of dollars in drinks. I think this was so out of line and I would never pay to go here again due to the rude owner.

Music cant be improved even if the one patron requests. Carlos and T are great, but wish patrons could change playlists. 1

Worst bar I have ever been too in my life. Bouncers are untrained and completely incompetent. The 20 something year old boy who dates the owner prances around like he owns the place and has the worst attitude/behaviour I have come across at a hospitality venue. There was a cover charge to get in when there was literally no one in the bar. The owner was yelling at a bartender for some reason in front of us and the music was incredibly bad. Do not go here. This place is an embarrassment to the gay community.

Terrible bar. They have a lot of attitude and don't deserve your business. Traveling around the South Island, I made a point of being in Christchurch on a Friday night so I could finally go out to a gay bar. Even though the bar accepts credit cards, this shady doorman said that I had to pay $10 cash to go in. When I asked if I could pay by credit card, he said no. I then asked if there was an ATM inside or nearby and he said no. He was rude, had a lot of attitude and couldn't care less if I decided to not come in at all if he couldn't get his pocket change cash. What this not-so-smart bar owner apparently doesn't understand is that I typically spend upwards of $100 on drinks when I go out. Business they'll now never see. They wanted to make sure they'd get their $10 in cash to walk into a completely empty bar at 11pm...it's no wonder it's empty. I decided not to go in, not just because if the ridiculous $10 cover, but because of the rude and unfriendly people at the door. Who wants that on vacation? I instead gave my business to the straight bars on Regents street which are all classy, beautiful spaces with friendly and professional staff. They'll go out of business soon unless less they 1) learn from what successful bars do and 2) fire the door staff.

The bouncer at this place is way too intense. When there's only 8 people in your club you don't get your bouncer practically turning people away at the door. I really enjoyed hanging out in this divey bar (for real) but I'd suggest no cover charge and tell the bouncer to settle down. Also weirdly a lot of straight people?
