Had the fish and chips, which was unfortunately pretty poor. Everything else was amazing. The service, decor, Irish band. Loved it and definitely worth a visit.
Stumbled into this as we left the church pub and found an oasis of Guinness and Irish tunes. Brilliant live music and a great crowd in a tiny, packed space? Perfect. Definitely check it out

I know it is tempting to go to the Church next door for a drink but that would be silly because Paddy's is far superior. It is a quaint little Irish pub with classic drink options (Irish whiskys, Magners cider, Kilkenny and Guinness). They do a cozy trivia night on Wednesdays and on most of the other nights they offer live music you can tap your foot along to the beat. The staff is marvelous and uber friendly. Isaac, Brian, Ben and Matt always take the time to appreciate the regulars and draw new people into the mix. If it wasn't for the pleasant staff I might never have returned. Luckily that travesty was avoided and I have soaked up many a cider and a tune in the venue. Just don't forget to close that front door in the winter, you brut!
Gorgeous wee olde-style Irish Bar in the city. The sawdust on the ground and wacky array of portraits really set the place off. Love sitting here and having a pint of cider. Back in 2022, I played their Pub Quiz but don’t know if that runs now. Haven’t been to Christchurch since Nov 2022. Can’t speak to their food as there are no Vegetarian options — doesn’t bother me! Just mentioning for others.
Best pub in town! I started coming to Paddy’s for the Wednesday quiz night and have continued coming to quiz nights every week. I’m a huge trivia fan and Kendra runs an incredible quiz! All of the staff are so attentive and welcoming.
Such a vibe, staff were super friendly and engaging even though they were being slammed post rugby game. A real mix bag of characters patronising but all having a great time. Live music really gave it a welcoming feel.
What a treasure to find this authentic Irish Bar, I could have been in the Emerald Isle! My arrival was greeted by musicians jamming Irish tunes to help the Guinness go down. Although compact. The pub is packed with interesting artifacts, photos and paintings. The staff were pleasant and most accommodating. A must do visit if you are in Christchurch!
