   We are members of an affiliated club in the South Island but had left our membership cards at home. We were on a quick driving trip to Auckland to collect a new vehicle and were staying in Hamilton for 1 night. We just wanted a quick and easy meal at this club but were flatly and rudely refused entry. As a 75 and 78 year old couple we couldn't believe it. The young woman on the door could plainly see we were well dressed elderly couple visiting the city. We have never in our 50 years of belonging to RSA and Workingmens clubs throughout NZ and Australia ever been refused entry. We went to the Cosmopolitan Club and we're received, and welcomed in warmly. Hamilton Working men's club needs to review its guest policy and have its door staff show some empathy, and maybe bend the rules on some occasions.

   I have emailed you before about the carvery set up, the food is not hot enough, you need heat under as well as over, chafing dish on the bottom, heat lamps on top. Why do you have the hot deserts before the salads, simple solution, have the hot custard in a crock pot, I saw a guy nearly putting custard on his cauliflower, thinking it was cheese sauce. This is a common sense solution and I would appreciate someone at least acknowledging my suggestions, it is not only me it is everyone at our table.

   The meals are getting worse. Silly shoe string fries which were just warm, got them replaced with hot ones. Lamb pie cold in the middle.

   What a nice place, good food and awesome bar service. You will need to be a member or a guest of a member. No complaints quite a busy place on a Tuesday night a few families enjoying the food and atmosphere.
