Unfortunately the Indian Staff member wasn't very helpful nor friendly. I traveled into Hamilton specifically to speak to a bank personal, as I needed a printed out letter of verification that my debt card was in fact mine because it is a temporary replacement card it did not have my name on it. I had prior to my walk in visit phoned Cooperative bank for a letter of verification which I must say the consultant I spoke to was more than willing to oblige. However an email was not an acceptable form of verification and I needed a proper letter to be presented. This being my reason for traveling into Hamilton Cooperative Bank as I do not live in Hamilton. The Indian Staff member in the bank branch, firstly refused to write a letter of verification, saying because I had an email already, she could not write me a letter. They don't do that. So I asked if she could look up my account for the email and maybe print it out. She then said NO they don't have a printer and she couldnt do that. I then persisted that I speak to someone else who could help me. She then said i would have to forward the email to her and then she would print it out. She pushed her business card to me which had her email on it. I explained to her I didn't have my glasses and was having trouble reading her card. She ignored me and I struggled to try and read it. I left the bank with a copy of the email in black not at all the normal offical bank letter format and bank letter head. It doesn't look offical. It looks like a made up version of a bank letter. After being treated like this from that Indian Staff member whom I've never seen in the bank ever. I left feeling not only belittled but like I had wasted my time traveling to Hamilton Cooperative to be served by someone whom just didnt want to help. I have had many dealings up front in the Cooperative bank and have always had great service from the New Zealand nationality staff in Hamilton but to be fronted by a foreign person staff member who just did not want to help is so disappointing. Maybe she needs to go back to where she is from so she can continue to treat those in her country badly because she really needs to learn better customer service skills to be working here in a New Zealand owned bank. So very disappointed that The Cooperative Bank would employ such a person.
