Belinda Goodwin is a natural and empathetic dance teacher who appears to have found her true calling in life. Her classes are inspirational - each session commencing with Belinda giving an explanation of what areas and systems she is focusing on for that class. Each dance is demonstrated and its beneficial components explained further throughout the movement. Belinda also elaborates on the links between the physical and emotional aspects of the movements and how they are related to the rhythm of the music for each piece. As participants she reminds us off the importance of the brain to develop new neural networks which can only serve to benefit participants further. Belinda gains the trust of her pupils so they work hard to meet her expectations. She uses praise constantly and does not criticise or cajole her students. She encourages them to do what they feel they can best achieve within the limitations of their Individual conditions. The class benefits from her physicality, musicality and sense of spirituality as well as her great sense of rhythm. She loves to heighten the mood of a dance by adding vocalisations to give special emphasis to sections of the music that she particularly enjoys or wants stressed. Her special talents combined with her enthusiasm for life and her compassion, concern and consideration for and of her pupils as individuals make Belinda an unforgettable, excellent dance teacher. Belinda is a wonderful, enthusiastic, teacher, who connects the movements with the seasons, environment, community and spirituality. The music she uses inspires and supports the movements. It is a real blessing and privilege to be involved in her sessions, they are freeing, uplifting yet relaxing and I find them hugely beneficial. Thankyou so much Belinda you are a glorious blessing to our community not only of Nia dancers but the larger community as well.

Thank you, Belinda, my body feels so much stronger since I started NIA dance and your gentle guidance through both new and repeat routines helps my body learn and remember at a deeper level whilst my busy mind finds a place of rest and joy.

Belinda is a wonderful teacher and all her classes are well prepared and easy to follow. She encourages her dancers to interpret the movement in their own way so there is no wrong or right way to do any of the moves. These classes are great for beginners or experienced dancers.

Nia dance has become that something new I needed to fill a void. The gentle movement engages and energises the entire body. Belinda is a fantastic instructor. If youβre not a dancer and feel a bit intimidated then come along we can be that together.

Loved our class today as always. The movements were specially targeting the spine today....all 26 vertabrae! As the dance flows from one movement to the next and progressively builds upon the previous movement, it is easy to follow and learn new routines. I feel that balance, core strength, flexibility and co-ordination are all coming together nicely.

My first time doing Nia and it was delightful to be outside under the trees with birds and butterflies and worms dancing along with us. Belinda is a wonderfully engaging instructor. The class was just the right pace for an out of shape beginner.
