   The location is what will keep you coming back. The room was fine, a bit of amaintenance wouldn't go astray, lights that don't work chair with a wobbly leg (wouldn't sit on it), sun umbrella that was broken. Then there was the service, we were called 10.02am on day of check out and the abrupt way in which reception spoke to us saying, *you know checkout is 10 o'clock* we were heading out the door when you called to ask us to checkout. Couldn't even thank us for our patronage.

   The location was wonderful, we had partial sea views which were lovely also had views of the mountain from the other side, the room was lovely, good size, large balcony, unfortunately our bed was the eorst we had ever had to sleep on, was very uncomfortable and we didn’t get a good sleep there. Bathroom was basic, nothing flash, and a smart tv would be nice, only had sky which isn’t great! Added parking was great

   Lovely spot at the Mount. Beautiful views across the beach and walking distance to cafes and main Mount shops and restaurants. Great sized apartments that are all kitted out. Would recommend.

   Reading the reviews, I was worried about the service here, but it wasn't nearly as bad as people have posted. Only real concern is that I didn't realize we had to be there by 1900 for check in. Accidently got there right on time. We had the penthouse and the views were spectacular, not to mention the fully equipped kitchen, wrap around deck with glass doors that open up all the way to provide an unobstructed view. Each room and a bathroom so no arguments about space. Private parking is very convenient. In room laundry was great.

   Bait-and-switch, odour and noise issues... The Pavilion Apartments was by far the worst accommodation experience we had during our travels around NZ. We stayed for 8 nights in mid-February, 2024. We made our booking a year prior, using the property’s website, which profiled each suite and invited the viewer to book their selection. We chose a third floor corner unit, paid our deposit, and received a confirmation email with a photo of the suite we had chosen. When we arrived at the property, we were provided keys for a completely different, inferior second floor unit. The manager was un-moved by the booking evidence and simply shrugged, saying “the photos on the website are generic and don’t look like the room”. They said there was nothing they could do as the property was fully booked. We stayed but came to regret that decision. First, the suite smelled strongly of stale cigarettes, as smoking is permitted on the balconies. Despite our daily efforts to air the place out, the odour remained. Second, while the location looks lovely, it is very noisy – we listened to the rumble of modified-exhaust cars and motorcycles all hours of the day and night and we were awakened daily by early morning deliveries to the restaurant on the first floor. Third, there was a surprise entry by 2 maintenance men, completely unannounced, while my husband was in the shower; the management gave no forewarning of this work. Stay elsewhere!

   Mike or what ever his name is! Is an Absolute belittling individual who anyone will find disturbing with the essence of rudeness seeping through his paws. Do not let the residue rub off and taint the motel or other staff members ITS JUST HIM.

   Another great stay . We do love this place..Location is perfect . Gail and Mike are great hosts and very helpful. Can recommend these apartments and all rooms are great, we have stayed in the one bedroom, the 2 bedroom and the penthouse. Can’t wait to return. Chris and Alice

   Obviously the view and location are both perfect. We stayed in a two bedroom apartment although the second bedroom is windowless so many would find that unpleasant to sleep. I felt a little more attention to detail would improve the overall enjoyment of the apartment such as windows being cleaner and outdoor furniture being better quality and not corroded. If you own a building on a beach you have to expect to clean windows regularly. There was also corrosion on the sliding door handles which could easily be removed.The building has had an expensive makeover but it hasn't brought the standard up as high as I expected. We had to be careful of the step up into the bathrooms and yes the fan which comes on when the light goes on is very noisy. It just seemed to lack polish. The male manager was a bit "Fawltyish" and seemed to be in the wrong job. Gail was pleasant and helpful.
