   My partner had an overnight stay. It was such a surreal experience. Trying not to say anything bad about our main hospital but in comparison.....wow. All staff from cleaners, receptionist, nurses right up to surgeons were so friendly. Informative and have a sense of humor. Very accommodating, polite and stress free. Didn't feel like we were at a hospital. The difference between public and private Healthcare is astonishing. Don't have to pay for parking either, bonus. I could name some bad things but that would be nitpicking.

   All the staff where lovely and attentive to ones needs and ensure I was well looked after. Would like to give a big thanks to my nurse Courtney she was amazing and want to appologize for getting a bit panicked and shutting down when I was told my op was possibly going to be done with a local. She took all the right steps in letting me calm down and getting the information needed to follow up and make sure it was done under a GA Thank you again to Courtney and the staff at the hospital for you care and support. Love Sheena

   All hospital staff were outstanding! Super friendly and made my 2night stay very comfortable. The meals were always on time and they were delicious. Only Sky Tv is available so taking my ipad made it possible to stream Netflix etc on the hospital wifi. Highly recommend SCH Hamilton.

   Im sorry my 1st review was the wrong SC. Huge shout-out to the wonderful ladies (I wish I got the names), from reception (young pregnant lady) preparation nurse (bluish hair, I think Sandy ) discharge nurse (I hope Suzanne) my apologises if wrong, your mannerism, very polite, caring and especially understanding. Johns surgeon, amazing, spoke easy, clear and words we understood. Yous all made our visit so comfortable as we didn't feel uncomfortable once. Thank yous all for the amazing service, and we a very very much appreciated. God Bless.

   I would just like to take this opportunity to thank the staff of the southern cross hospital for there wonderful help an care they provided while I was there for surgery the nursing staff were so professional and kind in taking that extra mile to keep me comfortable truly a five star rating I know how tough it is for the nursing staff that do those extras to keep myself and others stress free and comfortable A big thank you from the Kerewaro whanau

   Nursing and reception staff are excellent. Unfortunately, the experience was marred by the fact that staff seem to routinely converse at the top of their voices, doors get slammed by all and cleaning crew has no comprehension of how noisy they are - not OK in a hospital setting where people are recovering. Food is truly awful too.

   I’m currently sitting here in my room reflecting on how beautiful the staff and hospital is! Clean facilities, love the staff how prompt and efficient they are! Very attentive, The nurses, HCA and orderly are amazing! Massive ThankYou to Dr Steve McChesney for operating on me ♥️

   Great friendly and helpful staff. Good tidy facility. The building itself looks outdated and small for the current society need for Healthcare, but they appear to be very organised and systematic in managing patients from the moment they check in to check out. Free parking at front or on street parking. Individual rooms have their own ensuites, free SkyTV channels. Fancy ceiling speakers so limited noise for patients in other rooms. Free coffee from the machine by waiting area free Wifi. Free daily newspaper. You would think you are in a Motel (if you don't think about the pain from the surgery). Very tasty dinner meals and lunch time sandwiches are yummy too. Fruit salads are so yummy. Not that you want to be in any hospital but if you do and you can afford to, this is the one to be in. Go with Southern Cross Health Cover too as it will also make the claim process easy as the hospital will sort out your pre-approval directly and in advance with them.
