Always busy but can manage to do my shopping. If its too busy I just go elsewhere. Fruit and vegetables are ok. Cheap and shelves always stocked. Checkout always available. Self checkout is helpful
I just had the worst grocery shopping experience ever today in Pan'nSave Mill Street today. It was so busy there so it's hard to find a carpark and so many people were in the store. I spent 35 minutes in the carpark, couldn't find a carpark yesterday. Therefore, today I went to the store in my friend's car and we shared one trolley too , considering the store being so crowded. Then we went to the self-check out to pay for our groceries separately. Suddenly, the staff lady came to us, told us the coke limit was 2 but we got four in our trolley and removed 2 packages of coke immediately from our trolley. I explained we were two households but we just happened to share one car and one trolley. She said managers told them to do so.Therefore, I asked to talk to the manager. The manager came to the self-check out entry briefly to say rules were rules. She didn't want to listen to my explanation at all. In the meantime, my friend happened to talk to another shopper who was doing his own trolley check out. Then the staff and the manager said the another shopper, my friend and I were one household because we talked to each other.According to their logic, I guess the whole New Zealand could belong to my household because I talked to people. So as a result, they removed 2 packages of coke from my trolley and 2packaged of coke from the other shopper because we now were one household since we talked to each other. Reported this to Commerce Commission and waiting for a reply just because I don't want anyone else to go through the same treatment by this store in future.
I phoned Mill street on Saturday morning,a woman from Seafood put me through to meat department. I had 5 chicken carcuses saved for me. Wen I arrived Rod was the person who went and got the chicken carcuses. All staff on phone were great,Rob was very helpful,got me a trolly, Great communication skills A very good experience. My hubby and I went to do our grocery shopping at PaknSave at Mill Street, Hamilton on 9/7/2025. We love the seafood corner and bought some fresh salmon heads and chicken feet. There were not so many customers waiting so we enjoyed shopping there. Daniel was very helpful and courteous in relocating the trolleys from the car park to the entrance of the supermarket. We highly recommend you to shop there if you happen to visit Hamilton.
Cheaper price compare to countdown and new world. Much much choices for fish and other seafoods. Great place to shop but it's always crowded. I wish they will open another one or two in Hamilton.
The largest Pak n Save in Hamilton City. Large, spacious and user friendly. Easy to navigate with wide aisles. Great specials with the cheapest prices you'll find anywhere.
Love shopping at pack n save. For shoppers, be aware that the store can be packed. (Obviously). Very clean, kind staff. I have only one issue. When there aren't enough small trolleys for smaller items, I'm often having to use a large trolley when that's not convenient enough, leaves too much space, I wish baskets were available like countdown. It would be so much quicker and easier.
Better you check the receipt after purchase. This pak'nSave always charge wrong price for the special products. Today, my father bought red onions, a special price 2.99 per kg, but charged 8.99 per kg for his purchases. Also, the toilet paper special $5 limit for 2 bags only, my father took his neighbor, a lady who doesn't know how to drive to this pak'nSave shopping, both them need to buy toilet paper for their own family use, but the check out counter did not ask any reason, straight away took the toilet paper out not sell to them. I would like to say, this is the discriminate.
My review is for the platters that the deli provides. I am pretty busy/lazy with life in general. Today is my Grandsons 6th birthday, and I decided to go with platters that I had seen online. Our birthday prep went so much quicker & smoother than normal. The platters were absolutely beautiful. The kids loved being able to choose what they wanted to eat & they enjoyed everything. I paid $179 for 4 platters (sandwiches/savories, fresh inseason fruit, sushi, and sweets. I would have paid so much more, so $179 for peace of mind was totally worth it.
