I recently visited Sal’s Pizza in Tauranga, and I was so impressed by how genuinely friendly the staff were. One team member, in particular, stood out—they took the time to explain the menu in detail with such a warm smile that it made the whole experience unforgettable. I’ve been to Sal’s about five times in the past, but I’ve never encountered such exceptional service before. It honestly made me want to recommend Sal’s to all my friends. This was easily some of the best customer service I’ve experienced in 2025—right up there with the outstanding staff at the JW Marriott Hotel in Auckland that I visited recently. Thank you for making my visit so special! His name was Mr. Ezra.
This place sal's has the best pizzas that ive ever had it's juicey and has a lot of flavor but I recommend the Manhattan pizza it's just the right blend of flavor and the service that I got was great
I used to love coming here and would come often, hadn’t been here in a while and when I came back tonight after a long day I was so excited, there was a long waiting time which I’m used to because it’s normally worth it. This time when the girl handed me my food she said she put 2 extra garlic knots in there because “a couple of the mozeralla sticks split” I got back to my car and they were burnt and had gaping holes in them to the point some of them didn’t have any mozeralla in them, which was disappointing enough as I’ve never had problems here, but when I went back and asked the same girl (very nicely and polite) if she could please replace them and explained why, she had a bad attitude and said “yeah like I said that’s why I gave the 2 extra garlics knots” I didn’t reply because I was so caught off guard and confused she thought that was a good compensation. (I didn’t order any garlic knots to begin with and don’t even like them hence ordering mozeralla sticks) she then asked the two men behind her if she can replace them and they seemed a bit reluctant and said yeah just replace them. I’m so disappointed they were served to me in the first place when they cost $14 for 6. The ones that didn’t have holes and no mozeralla in them were well over cooked and rock hard… I’ve never returned food anywhere as I understand mistakes happen etc but for such a long wait to be given such terrible food left me speechless let alone the way they handled it. I left feeling so disappointed and confused at their reaction especially because of how kind I was and to be faced with a rude and strange reaction when they were in the wrong… The pizza is still good but I recommend checking your food before leaving. It’s sad to lose trust in a place I loved so much and I will probably now not return often or if at all.
Awesome pizza and great service every time. Nice seating area with big screen TV. Ask for a parmesan shaker! Highly recommend the pepperoni wheels!
We online ordered a bit too close to closing but they still made the pizza for us! Definitely fault on our end but the girl and guy working handled it super nicely :) thank you!!
AVOID AVOID AVOID These people have no clue how to run a business. Ordered food told me it was going to be 20 minutes went back and they said we never put the order through waited 45 minutes owner was there he's full of S%$t. Had an awful experience there 2 weeks ago owner told me he would credit a meal went there 10 more times no credit. FULL OF S%$T Too add to your response and reading all your negative comments about your restaurant i believe you need to train your staff better. Were you there when it all happened (NO). The first time i had a bad experience your staff served cold possibly uncooked chicken which if eaten could have made us sick. I have had 2 bad experiences in your restaurant and will never return its as simple as that. You can take the road you have taken and tried to blame me the customer but people will see right through that and it will happen again to someone else which is sad because you wont learn. Good Luck!
The pizza here is great, as is the service. This is the most New York like pizza I've had outside of New York! Note: Be sure to try the garlic knots! They are wonderfully chewy and garlicky, the best we've ever had (even better than other Sal's locations in Auckland)!
