FINALLY A decent sushi place in Rototuna! This review is of the chicken products only. There are some pretty different sushi flavours available here, the sweet and spicy chicken skewer and the Garlic and Soy chicken sushi were a win! The honey soy mini pre made donburi bowl was delicious, and a solid size for a light lunch. Everything tasted super fresh and clean at 1.30pm. Will definitely be coming back here to try everything!

We visited this sushi restaurant in Rototuna, Hamilton, during a day trip and were pleasantly surprised to find it open on Anzac Day, which was very convenient for us as many other places were closed. The restaurant is located in a good, easy-to-access area with ample parking and a nice, relaxed vibe. The place itself is clean and tidy, with a good layout and a welcoming atmosphere. You can tell the owners take pride in keeping the restaurant well-maintained, which definitely adds to the overall dining experience. We found the pricing to be reasonable — not too expensive and pretty fair for the portion sizes and the quality. There’s a decent variety of sushi options on display, and everything looked fresh and appetizing. I ordered the teriyaki bento, which was decent but could be improved. The flavor was a bit underwhelming and lacked the richness or balance you’d typically expect from a good teriyaki dish. It wasn’t bad, just felt like it needed a bit more attention to seasoning and presentation to really shine. One small suggestion for the owners: being a bit more generous or easy-going with the miso soup would go a long way. It’s such a comforting staple in Japanese meals, and offering it without hesitation would make the overall experience feel warmer and more hospitable. All in all, it’s a solid sushi spot with good standards in cleanliness, decent pricing, and a convenient location. Since we’re not local to Hamilton, we likely won’t be back anytime soon — but if we lived nearby, we’d consider it a reliable go-to for a casual sushi meal. Definitely worth a visit if you’re in the area!
The sushi here is very good, bit pricey though. Good place for a grab and go lunch.
