I’ve always enjoyed coming here for meals, but this visit was quite disappointing. The young man who usually serves us wasn’t around, and we were instead looked after by a young woman who seemed very inexperienced. At one point, she nearly knocked our sunglasses off the table with a plate. It felt careless and unprofessional.
I finally managed to go to this restaurant that was on my list and was recommended by a friend. I don't regret it. I went to get a takeaway and the option I chose was "Combination fried noodles" which was simply divine. I'll be back soon to try other dishes. I ordered through the website which works quite well and scheduled a pick-up time. The portion was generous and was enough for two meals. The restaurant also has a delivery service, but only to neighboring locations.
Food was great! We had fried dumplings, deep friend salt and pepper pork, and wanton soup. Love the Chilli oil too on the table. Service, fast and efficient. Tidy little restaurant. Definitely recommend the food.
Best chinese restaurant for non chinese people in hamilton. Better than chilli house/ sichuan style in CBD. Authentic chinese taste is xi chuan style.

I read the comments here and found many people are not satisfied with their service. I went here tonight and found the food does taste pretty good and the service wasn't that horrible tho not as friendly as in other restaurants. Price there are quite reasonable as well. It still worth a try anyway.
I ordered fried pork bun to take away, but got fried pork dumping. That gave a surprise when I open the take away box at home. The waiter doesn't feeling any sorry for that. He insisted that I made a wrong order. That's really terrible.
I was so impressed by this place, the food quality was outstanding and the portions are large. Presentation is great. Honestly even if I had this in china I'd be impressed. Literally the best Chinese food I've had in NZ. They were busy but the food still came out in about 10 minutes or so. I especially recommend the 生煎包 (like a big meat bun with soup in it). Pretty affordable overall. We were a table of 3 adults and we all ate till we're full. Would definitely go back.
