Went to Sal's the other week with my family and it really is just an honest to goodness pizza place. Great food, fair price, and generally just a good experience. The staff were friendly and really patient with us when we stumbled on our order a bunch. Personally I'm a huge fan of the general vibe and aesthetic of the place, somehow it adds to the flavour- all in all it's a place I'm keen to eat at some other time that I'm in town! I mean the half and half pizza alone is SO worth it.

Sal's Pizza on Victoria Street is a solid spot if you're craving authentic New York-style pizza in Hamilton. The moment you step in, the smell of fresh pizza dough and melted cheese hits you – instantly tempting. I went with a classic large pepperoni, and it didn’t disappoint. The crust was thin, slightly crispy on the edges, with that perfect chewy texture underneath. The pepperoni had a great kick, and the cheese was just the right amount of gooey. They also don’t skimp on the toppings, which is a huge plus. What stood out for me was the balance in flavors – not overly salty or greasy like some pizza places. Portions are generous, so it's easy to share or save some for later. The staff were friendly and quick with my order, even though it was pretty busy. If you're a fan of a true New York slice, I’d definitely recommend checking out Sal's. It's a bit pricier than your average pizza, but for the quality and size, it’s worth it. However I wasn't too happy about the Cheesecake dessert - but this can improve.

We recently visited Sal's Pizza and tried the 5 Boroughs pizza (half) along with two slices of Pepperoni Pizza. The total cost was $50. The ambience was fine, seeing the kitchen added a nice touch to the experience. Doors were left open and you could feel a bit cold so just load up the jackets to feel warm during winter. The lady who took our order didn't greet us and seemed a bit off at first, though she did smile and seemed more pleasant later on. We can understand she might have been tired. As for the pizza, the taste was quite different and nice, but the base was quite chewy and not as soft as we would have liked. It was not filling. We’d reserve a visit to Sal’s for special occasions due to the expense. It's a good spot if you're looking for an expensive pizza that won't leave you feeling too fullβ€”perfect for when you want to indulge but still keep things light. Overall the staff was nice ☺️ Thank you for the service and we look forward to visit Sal’s again ✨

Superior pizza to anywhere else. Poor staff was on sole charge, running around like a headless chook Door wide open, freezing cold wind. Could have been a little nicer to have had some warmth.

I love the huge sized pizzas and also the chance to be able to dine on your choice of pizza slices, sticks, or rolls. It is a nice little diner that offers takeaways. It is a little bit pricey but if you compare the size and flavors you'll see why.

Honestly Sal's has the best pizza in NZ. If we're ever in Hamilton it's almost a given we'll stop to get some pizza. I'm getting hungry just thinking about it. The pizzas are large, cooked perfectly, with good quality ingredients. The garlic knots and pepperoni wheels are also great little snacks. Service is only 3 stars as they forgot our buffalo wings on our last visit, and all our interactions with the staff were just a little "off" (the impression was they were busy but also didn't really care about providing great hospo service). It was good Friday, but still, sun standard this time. It would have been lower than 3 stars but I have to say in other visits they have been better.

I liked the atmosphere and the smell of the pizzas getting out of the ovens. We ordered half chicken and half cheese and it was a great combination. It is really large and fed our family of 5. I think it is a great value for the quality and service. It took only 15 min to be ready, which passed really fast while we watched some basketball. Staff was kind and efficient. Will come back soon.
