   If you Google Samurai Bowl, Colombo St., you'll see that they were knowlingly serving food infected with Staphylococcus aureus. I loved their ramen, so decided after they reopened to give them a second chance. I should have known better when seeing a pest trap out in the open on the floor of their dining area. I was violently ill after eating ramen - with the exact symptoms listed for ingesting Staphylococcus aureus bacteria. DON'T EAT HERE!!

   I went there a few years ago and it was nice. I remember it was running by Japanese. I knew something went wrong when the staff has no expression and feedback from what I said. I found out Chinese drinks in the fridge. I guessed the owner is changed. The food is normal now. I am a bit disappointed. I don’t think I will go there again.

   First impression was bland whit walls, not at all what I would expect considering the other samurai bowl is welcoming and had more atmosphere. Waitress didn’t quite understand the menu and the addition veges we paid for were from a frozen packet…. Disappointing considering the alternative sushi bowl is quite authentic, I felt this place was a cheap knock off, no idea if the two are connected on any way but I won’t be back, I’ll stick to the authentic Japanese thank-you. Flavours were not even close to the other store, as I said if you want to over pay for a cheap knock off this place would suit the bill however save Yourself the trouble and go to the other samurai bowl on the other side of town, real Japanese staff with actual attention to detail. I’ve lived in Japan for three years so I know a thing or two about what constitutes a good ramen.

   Loved the Vegan Yakisoba. Lots of vegetarian and vegan options. Simplistic setting and service but delicious food. Embrace the simple and just enjoy the great food.

   Very rude old lady working there. Asked the younger girl working there if we could sit at the four seater table which was reserved and she said yes but the old lady said you cant sit there as it is reserved. Nobody came in to sit there while we were there. Food was really bad and all we could hear is some arguing at the back of house. The older lady keep staring at us. Paid good money for very average food and the portions sizes are small. Uses the same menu with photos from years ago but the food is totally different. Wont be going back there again.

   Food was delicious and came quickly. Prices were expensive for the portion size. I’m happy regardless, I visited just after 1pm, there was only two tables occupied. I got the unagi don with a ramen egg and the karaage chicken (because I was fully aware of how small Japanese portions are) and I was full just right and not in a food coma. Total came to about $34, which is way more expensive than Maccas, but at least I got to eat eel and didn’t have to queue up for ages.
