Excellent little place to go for NZ King Salmon Sashimi and rolls. Fresh and generous servings. Not really any other sushi choices but there are other cooked items. Friendly service.
The food was DELISH! Loved the different little tasters we got in our bento box’s, all so succulent and divine. We always stay at hotel 115 and I’ve never been here before, It’s good to know it’s nice and close and I’ll definitely be back next time I’m in Christchurch for work. Such a cute little place and the staff are lovely. The only thing id recommend, is they need The lights to be a little softer while dining, would make it a different vibe again if they were dimmed. But that’s isn’t a deal breaker of course haha!
A cosy & popular restaurant in an area full of eateries. Friendly staff, feels like it's a family business. Standouts were: Salmon & Tuna Sashimi - extremely fresh and generous slices. Teriyaki Chicken - tender and flavoursome. Double Salmon Sushi Rolls - packed with salmon and delicious. Agedashi Tofu - nestled in a delicate tasty broth. Price-wise we found it was value for money. Good range of Japanese alcoholic & non-alcoholic beverages. Highly recommended!
A great little hidden gem! This small, cozy Japanese restaurant offers an authentic and welcoming atmosphere. The service was excellent—friendly, attentive, and efficient. The food was absolutely delicious, beautifully presented, and full of flavour. It’s clearly popular, as it was quite busy when we went—definitely recommend booking in advance. A fantastic spot for a relaxed and satisfying meal. Will definitely be back!
Wonderful experience. Really neat place to dine and have the tram drive by although it was too cold to sit outside for long! The food was good and the sashimi was very fresh. Servers were friendly and we enjoyed our experience overall

Hands down one of the best Japanese food in town, super fresh ingredients, authentic cooking, well thought after drinks collection, and absolutely welcoming service and ambiance. Had so much food here and will keep doing so. Note, always book ahead as tables run out fast there.
We arrived almost at closing time and they were kind enough to serve us. We just arrived in Christchurch and rushed to the joint hoping to get ourselves a hot soup dinner. As you can see we ordered udon and some sushi to share. It was a very good dinner. Enjoyed it so much! Will probably come back again.
Oh my! What a wonderful meal, restaurant, and staff! We arrived to Christchurch late in the evening so didn’t plan ahead much. Rushed to the nearest restaurant—Sakimoto. What a glorious surprise. That was simply one of the very best meals we have had anywhere. Thank you!
