Unfortunately not a good experience. Worst bit of fish we have ever had. Under cooked batter and bones in the fish and I don’t think the fish was fresh (frozen maybe) they can confirm this. Sorry guys just being honest. Chips and sauce were good, potato fritter agin under cooked batter and way to thick and heavy.
Really nice fish and chips. Super crispy crumbed fish and tasted super fresh. Wish it was a little bit saltier and that they had vinegar that I could put onto my chips. But otherwise yummy.
The Fish & Chips are amazing. The pieces of fish are huge and melts in your mouth. They also sell deep fried spring rolls, Curry puffs, doughnuts and much more. They sell fresh fish fillets too. Excellent service and the staff were so friendly. Parking right outside.
Fresh and Delicious fish. I was lucky to be there when there wasn’t a queue. Owners were so friendly and welcoming, they took time to explain the types of fish available that day. I ordered two portions of orange roughy deep fried in crumbs, absolutely delicious. Will definitely visit when I’m back.
I recommend this place ! Best Fish and Chips in Auckland in my opinion. We always get take out and eat on the beach since it’s just next to it. We always take the snapper. We usually take our own sauces and drinks but there is everything available in the store. It’s great cause you can also buy your own fish filet.
Fresh fish, perfectly cooked. Lovely owners. Great chips, 3 scoops was just right for 4 adults - but wouldn't be enough for a hunger buster
Firstly - the fish and chips are wrapped in newsprint paper which is a great start. This is a large and a medium snapper fillet crumbed, and they were huge pieces, with a scoop of chips. A great feed of F&C's and well recommend. Perhaps the chips were slightly on the small size of portion. The only negative was that due to very high demand, there was a long delay between order and delivery, so my recommendation on peak nights is to order well before you need it. The photos show the fillets with a can of coke so you can see the size of the fillets.
It’s a shame more of the locals don’t take the time to write a review. This has got to be the best fish and chip shop in Auckland. Family owned and operated, with a great vibe, great prices, great chips, fresh fish, and always busy. You know it’s good when they’re too busy to have Uber Eats. Fresh fish from the window is an option (the blue cod is a particular treat) to go straight on the grill or in the fryer. It’s a true Kiwi fish and chip shop, that doesn’t screw you on the serves and prices.
10 out of 5 stars, HIGHLY recommend. BEST fish n chips in Auckland. We had a big feed from here last night, the crumbed snapper was SOO delicious and fresh, it fell apart and melts in your mouth. Also the service was amazing, so friendly and squeezed in our big order even though they were shutting at 8pm. Will definitely be back ;) :)
Easily the best fish and chips in the bays and it’s great that you can purchase fresh fish to take home. Stopped in this time for a potato fritter on the way home but am a regular for their toasted sandwiches and battered fish, 10/10! James Ashwin Kakapo Business Sales
