My husband had his wisdom tooth removed here and the experience was very unpleasant. The dentist was very rough and ignored his discomfort and gagging, continuing without checking on him. Non-dissolvable stitches were used and only changed after he specifically asked. Very disappointing experience.
Ela the receptionist was very professional and kind, with making following appointments recomending different treatments and charging my phone. Zahraa the Hygienist was very kind, professional informative and knowledgeable. I had a great time at the dentist. Nearly fell a sleep.
UPDATE: 2 months later, I have not needed any root canals. Saving me ~$2500. Couldn't be more thankful for the team at Ranfurly Dental Care in Epsom. Highly recommend you consider any dental clinic, other than Lumino (my experience at Lumino Ponsonby in 2023 was also terrible and over priced) ------ Went to Lumino for a first appointment. Check up only. 2x xrays were done and she said I needed two root canals. They said they cannot perform root canals themselves, I would instead be referred to a specialist. The appointment itself was a flustered expereience and the dentist seem to lack focus and wanted to get it over with. When I told them I wanted to "shop around" they were rude and dismissive. I was then referred by a friend, to a local dentist in Epsom, who re-took xrays because the Lumino ones were not done properly (half the image missing because the dentist didnt accomodate for my overbite) And they told me I didn't actually need a root canal and instead could attempt to save the tooth - as there was no pain and the nerve was not dead. It was a painless and great experience in comparison to Lumino. A 20 minute check up with Lumino cost $300 where all I got was 2 xrays and a diagnosis of needing two root canals. An hour appointment, originally for a root canal, ended up being 2 xrays, a filling, and a full dental care plan for other issues she noticed that Lumino didn't mention; cost me $320. Price aside. Lumino lacked care and attention. Another number for them to process, quickly.
I had a great experience with Dr Sally. She was gentle, took the time to explain everything clearly, and made sure I felt comfortable throughout. Highly recommended!
I highly recommend Dr Sally at Lumino as I had a positive experience with her. She shows genuine care and immediately put me at ease. She truly cares about patient comfort and long term dental health.
I had a recent appointment with Remuera Dental and I was unfortunately very disappointed with the reception staff. They were rude over the phone and did not provide a nice experience at all when I was trying to sort out issues with my dental plan. When I arrived for my appointment, both females at reception were not engaging. When I asked questions, they made me feel like an idiot and acted like they would rather be anywhere else than doing their job. No welcoming smile, something that literally costs nothing. I’ve worked in customer service and this is not how you treat clients especially in healthcare. I find going to the dentist rather stressful and these two ladies made it so much worse. They did not communicate clearly and made me feel so uncomfortable at this practice. I left in tears. People pay a lot of money to go to the dentist. The least you could expect is a half-friendly receptionist. This has put me off. It’s such a shame because the dentist and the nurse was so lovely and I’ve been there in the past with no problems. I’m going to be moving dentists due to this awful experience and I really hope that cultures changes for other clients.
I took my brother for his yearly check-up not too long ago. My brother usually dreads going to the dentist and he was nervous coming in but this team is just incredible. I couldn't be happier that he saw Riya for his dental check-up and filling. She straight away put him at ease and made his appointment very comfortable. She’s very gentle and thorough and she took the time to explain everything which I really appreciated. Highly recommend.
my 90 yr old mother went for toothache. Their level of communication with her was very poor, they didn’t offer to send the prescription to her chemist , and were prepared to remove her infected tooth , without antibiotics , then refusing to answer my calls. Very unprofessional
I went to my hygiene appointment this week in this practice and overall experience was great. Would definitely comeback for another session. Great job team!
I had an appointment today with this centre. The dentist did not do any special on my teeth, he just checked and referred me to the specialist but charged me 174$!!! He just printed out my teeth photo on a paper and when I asked him to send this through the email. He replied back that he never use his email for patient. I never recommend this centre as they did not do anything for me and just charged me for nothing. Also I was not happy with the dentist. I haven't had such a terrible experiment in new Zealand
