Sian at Schnips Kohi has been doing my hair for tears. Over time it has become more complicated as I become greyer. I am not ready to embrace my white hair but on the other hand I don’t want obvious regrowth and frequent appointments. Sian has handled this challenge perfectly, I went in two weeks ago and I love her recommended colour with a blend of highlights, lowlights and semi. Thanks Sian, you make us look awesome even in our mid 50s!
I used to love Schinips in manukau but they have definitely changed. Don't come here if you have curly hair. The hair dresser was rude the whole time, made fun of my natural curls while drying it and did a terrible haircut. I also got told off for not booking the longer appointment but i did! Waste of money, I could have done it better myself. Seems like they only value "certain" customers.
My hairstylist Manny did an excellent job with my haircut. She was a lovely chatty person and made me feel comfortable with my haircut, even giving me tips and tricks to take care of my hair during the summer months. 10/10 recommend this hairstylist!
Worst ball hairdo ever. My daughter asked for an 80s blowout, it was nothing like it. When I booked I had explained my daughter had thick, long hair and was assured, an 80s blowout wasn’t a problem for the skilled hairdresser. But on the day, the novice doing it had no idea about hair, and shouldn’t have been left on her own. She asked the actual hairdresser for assistance over the two hours, but kept making major mistakes that ruined any chance of curls and made a birds nest of her hair. They said curls were then going to be hard to hold, but they couldn’t even style it so it looked like she had been to a salon. We were so disappointed. They did charge me less, but even at $60, it was an absolute disaster. When my daughter left, I let the hairdresser know it was disappointing and gave feedback, unfortunately the experienced hairdresser was incredibly rude telling me I should have spoken directly with the ‘stylist’ regarding my daughter’s hair. I hope no one else goes through this.

Sorry but I won't go here again. It was shocking when I came back home and watched mirror. My sculp is really messy now with red stains everywhere. Also I am not happy with the result as well. With cheaper price at other salons in Auckland, they've done much better than this.
Schnips in Melanesia Rd, Kohimarama is a smart looking salon with a selection of stylist to choose from. Jai coloured my hair and Hannah cut my hair, a team effort. Living on a boat and at a beach plays havoc with my hair. Thanks for rescuing it girls!
