Went in expecting the good ol trustworthy Uncle Man for some Malaysian meal around 7 pm. Food took 25 mins to arrive. Oily and salty nasi lemak. Staff was yelling at each other in the kitchen the entire 25 mins — man you should look after your shop if your staff is ruining your place. Gone are the good ol days of the best Malaysian food in town. Would rather spend my money somewhere else.

I visited midweek at around 12 and the restaurant was packed, so I returned at 1.30 and was able to get a table with no problem. I ordered the Murtabak, but I wasn’t impressed - the filling was quite dry and became quickly boring after the first piece. It needed some sort of binding agent like cheese or a more juicy chicken.

What a find! Such authentic Malaysian food is great to discover in Auckland. We had rotis with the beef rending and it was superb and cheap. We'll be back.

Came here for lunch on a weekday and found a place to sit immediately, so was lucky as it filled up right afterwards. Ordered the Kuey Teow and the Seafood Laksa. The food took a while to come, but once arrived it was worth the wait. Very tasty and good value. The only downside, it was very hot inside and really felt like you were eating in Asia

Recommendation: Roti Bom, Nasi Lemak, Hot Milk Tea Don’t get: Wat Tan Hor Roti Bom- This is my favourite item here and it’s super crispy, fluffy and chewy. Really well made and one of the best places to have this Wat Tan Hor - This is a huge disappointment and the reason why this review is not 5 stars. The noodles were mushy, small portion and the gravy was soupy instead. Unfortunately it was slightly burnt as well. Hopefully this is only because it was rush hour. For some reason it also came with vermicelli and flat rice noodles. Milk tea - Also very yummy and doesn’t taste like it’s made from store bought packets. Comes in a huge portion too with I appreciate Chicken rice - Yummy but not much seasoning on salad Nasi Leman w fried chicken - Yummy, sambal is heavenly and rice has good coconut flavour.

Went for lunch around 11 45. Expect long queue and decent wait time. Recommend to follow up 10 minutes after you ordered, if the place is really busy.

This is another branch they have besides the Karangahape branch. As always, Malaysian food is tasty and good. The prices are affordable and servings are generous. The service was quick given that it was on a Friday at 13:00. This is one of the Malaysian restaurants that you must try in Auckland. Their seafood curry laksa is really good. Teh tahrik is always good to have for each meal here.

This chain is the best in Auckland. Flavors are pretty close to what you get in Malaysia albeit with larger portion sizes. Halal, too.

Popular lunch spot and good menu selection. Had lamb biriyani rice, the lamb was tender, would’ve preferred more depth of flavour and spices but was good. Rating is based on overall experience, food quality and taste.

Worth wait for both chicken rice and chicken briyani rice which my friend had during the office hours. Both dishes are full of flavour and they are just reminding me of my home in Indonesia.. the chicken rice itself tasted like what i used to have in Medan..the briyani rice even i just had a bit from my friend, taste like nasi padang for me.. both dish are superb and full of flavour.. thank you Uncle man and keep up the great work!!
