   My husband and I, with my friend and her partner decided to get something to eat at this restaurant before the show at The Bruce Mason Centre we were going to, Friday 7th November, 2025. The first server was pleasant enough. We ordered drinks and food from the counter. When the food came, mine was all good. The 2nd server(an older lady, blue eyes, wearing a green floral flowing dress) came with my friend's order. Only gave 3 sliders not 6, where is the rest? my friend asks the server. "You only paid $18" so that's what you get, in a rather rude tone. "Umm no, I paid $52 for food that includes the 6 sliders for $34 I paid for" replies my friend. "No way you only paid $18" replied the rude cow. Ok, go and get the receipt and have a look my friend said to her. Oh goodness my friend must have been right, because that rude server bought her other 3 sliders over saying they are both pork even though my friend had ordered chicken and pork. My friend said that she has ordered chicken and pork the rude server says "no you can't order different only the same" My friend had asked the 1st server if she could have one 3 sliders as pork and the other 3 sliders as chicken, to which she said yes you can. That rude cow of server didn't even have the decency to come over and admit she was wrong or apologise to my friend. It made us think that perhaps being of Polynesian descent that she can talk to us the way she did. Did we see her talk to her white patrons this way.....No of course not. We will not be coming back to your restaurant and will also make sure we tell our friends about your rude service from that server

   The restaurant isn’t big, but it has a lot of charm. The food really surprised me — so delicious for the price! The owner is super nice and makes you feel very comfortable.

   First-time visit on Saturday night. The lady who served us throughout our visit was superb — friendly, attentive, and welcoming. The tapas we ordered were all delicious! We had the salt and pepper calamari, cauliflower bites, Caesar salad, and arancini balls — every dish was fresh and full of flavour. Would highly recommend and we’ll definitely be back!

   We are regulars at Hops and Claret in Takapuna for drinks and or a casual meal and we always have a great experience. This last weekend we held a private function there for our daughter’s 21st birthday. 50 people in attendance. We had a fabulous evening, everything ran smoothly and Louise and her team were professional and very accommodating. Thank you

   Myself and my husband called in on the spur of the moment this afternoon whilst in Auckland for a show. The cosy atmosphere is what drew us in, and our regard for the establishment was increased by the the friendliness of the young man in sole charge. We were both impressed by our cocktails and spent a very pleasant 40 minutes there. For people who like an intimate bar, with atmosphere, look no further.

   Such a homely feel with the atmosphere and service! Food and cocktails are bloody amazing. When asking for recommendations on the food, the host highly recommended the Moroccan chicken skewers (these were perfect!), and also suggested on ordering 3-4 items from the Tapas menu for the 2 of us - we decided on 4 items and ended up taking half of our cheese and garlic pizza bread home! Couldnt have asked for a better friday arvo!
