   The Wonderful WAH LEE! Store is one of the very few stores left in Auckland that has Uniqueness and a bit of Mystery, but best of all - it has HEART & SOUL. In fact I can't think of a better shop!Why? - because it has been run and nurtured by the amazing and Kind Mr Wah Lee himself, for almost all his life since he was a tiny boy helping his grandfather, who started the Wah Lee shop many decades ago. We love his shop, and wish it was closer to where we live. I know for a fact that plenty of his customers stop by, especially to say Hi & have a chat first with Mr Wah Lee to see how he is going. There is a TON of stuff and amazing deals in his shop (Best prices in Auckland!), and it would literally take hours to see it all. When Aucklander's die, they don't wish they had worked more, - they wish they had visited the Wah Lee Store more!.    I like wah lee. Not so many people here. Got dry food spice and also wok and chopstick. Feel like old style shop. Staff chinese so if i cannot say english i speak mandarin they know. Good place when i want cook proper chinese food.

   A great eclectic store that also is an icon. Sell plenty of unique and unusual items. Staff members are friendly, accommodating, patient and very helpful. They went above and beyond to help you. Car parking can be challenging. I believe that this is the only shop featured in the Auckland Memorial Museum exhibition.

   I was looking for chili threads to garnish noodle dishes and candlenuts for curry paste. The lady was kind enough to divide a large pack of the threads in half for me. Large variety of Asian serving and cooking ware. They also carry Yerba mate and Latin specialties! Well worth a visit just to take a peek at all the interesting items.

   This is a living history of Chinese grocery stores. I went there ages ago. Now they have all sorts of other stuff rather than just Chinese food or utensils. They are now stockist for some local artisan products. I like to browse their random stuff - there will always be a wonderful surprise. I found a few artefacts from my childhood memories. One of the shop staff is a European gentleman who is very kind.
