One of the best steamed soup dumpling places in Auckland. Stream dumplings are freshly made and steam. The dumpling skin is a work of art. The dumpling mixture is just right and the soup within is the fresh and sweet. Worth a trip to this place.

I honestly have no idea have I haven't sang praises for this place online earlier considering how I've been coming here on a near-weekly basis for literal years. I started eating at the Northcote branch when I was like 10 years old, fell in love with it, and immediately started eating at this larger Albany branch once it opened. I'm convinced this place genuinely has the best soup buns worldwide. And that's saying a lot, considering I often go out of my way to try soup buns whenever I see them. In fact, I've even sought out soup buns in Shanghai which is LITERALLY WHERE THEY ORIGINATE FROM and none have stood a chance against Little Yum. The skin is astoundingly thin, the amount of soup inside is very generous, and the soup has a very special and amazing flavour that I cannot find anywhere else no matter how hard I try. My top recommendations would be the steamed pork soup buns, steamed crab soup buns, pan-fried pork soup buns, and pan-fried soup dumplings. While the soup buns are the main highlight, there's a lot of other great stuff on the menu too. Their scallion oil noodles are some of my favourite, being extremely flavourful, if a bit oily. The chilli oil wontons are great. The beef curry vermicelli noodles are great. The egg dumpling noodles are great. The sichuan chicken is great. I will say that the pork ribs are kinda mid though. They get stuck in your teeth a lot. If you're getting soup buns or noodles of any kind, I recommend you dine in and don't take them out. The soup buns stick to each other and break easily, leading to the delicious soup leaking out. If left for too long, the skin will soak up the soup so there won't be much soup left inside. The noodles clump together if left for too long. I miss this place so much now that I'm not in New Zealand anymore :( I'll definitely be coming back here the moment I visit NZ.

Excellent dumpling place to visit in Albany! This is by far better than the majority of places i’ve visited. In terms of food, they give a really generous portion with good filling and really good soup. The smaller buns and dumplings are also really really good compared to many other competitors. Perhaps one of the best places! The service is quite cool, uses a scan QR code to see menu type of service. Food is served at moderate speeds, not too slow or fast. Atmosphere is also quite nice, not too noisy and plenty of seats.

Neat place to visit by if you are in the area. My wife and I visited the restaurant just a week ago while looking for a place for dumplings. It was a pleasant surprise to have had encountered this place. Dumplings were surprisingly delicious, in particular, the pan fried soup bun. The meat juice fills the mouth and is full of flavor. Other dumplings are decent also. I'd love to visit again and try different menus. Would definitely recommend when you're in the area.

Dumpling is in their name so just stick to those. It's difficult to rate this place because the fried buns we had were truly great. Chewy wrappers with crisp bottoms, filled with piping hot juice, and delicious filling. So good. Both noodle dishes we got however were just bland as could be, we were almost laughing. Buns are 5 star, noodle dishes were like 2 or 3. Would definitely go back for more buns

A very lovely place for typical and yummy Shanghai food. They are the best Shanghai food that I have ever in Auckland. The tastes are even better than I had in Shanghai! Have come back several times and never gets disappointed. Strongly recommended.

Best authentic Shanghai food in Aotearoa! Food portions are generous, full of toppings and trimmings. Little Yum brings the gigantic yum to Auckland! Place has very nice ambient, very clean complete with amenities like childrens play area to keep the little ones busy. Lots of parking around, easy access. Amazing service, staff speaks good English. Would be back again soon, highly recommended!
