I ordered chicken biryani and was shocked by the portion size and it was extremely small and not worth the price at all. It honestly felt like a kids’ portion. The presentation and overall value were poor, and it did not meet even basic expectations for a proper biryani. I wouldn’t recommend this dish and won’t be ordering it again.
I normally order from this fried chicken place through uber eats I ordered a Pack One which was 5 pieces of chicken. Now when i received my order the chickens burned and they were so dry it looks like they’ve been lying there all day. Chicken was so dry and they were small. I am really disappointed. No one wants to eat that stuff
I initially had a great experience with Birkdale Takeaways starting last year. However, my last three orders have been disappointing due to hygiene concerns. The first two had hair in the curry, and the most recent one contained a housefly in the curry and an insect in the rice. I reported this to the staff, and I hope they take serious steps to improve cleanliness and food safety. While the food itself has been good, hygiene is a top priority, and I believe regular checks by food safety officers would be beneficial to ensure proper standards are met."
We ordered a biryani, but what we received was nothing more than bland fried rice with chicken—an outright scam. Disgusting and completely intentional fraud. When we called to address the issue, the so-called “great chef” who prepared it not only refused to acknowledge his mistake but also insulted us, suggesting we didn’t know what biryani was. To make matters worse, he even questioned whether we were intoxicated. The food was absolute garbage, and the staff—especially that chef—clearly have no idea how to handle complaints, let alone provide decent customer service. This was not just bad food; it was a deliberate rip-off. Caution to everyone: Don’t waste your money or time here, whānau.
Wow, what a great takeaways. The food was great, really affordable and my first ever fish and chippery that gave me the option of salt or chicken salt. Not only that, but I rudely asked if they had any vinegar. They again gave me the choice of if I wanted on the chips or the fish and I said just splash it over everything. That’s the first chip shop has done that for me for over thirty years!! My lunch, fish and chips, came in at only $9, so I asked them for $2 more chips, a total of only $11, an awesome lunch, awesome fish, great chips, I’m gonna be back to try some more!
Ordered a butter chicken on their first day doing Indian food. Chicken was burnt, saw them the next day about it not expecting a refund or free food or anything, they cooked my meal again for free! The meal was way better! 10/10 in quality and taste! Looks like they have ironed out the problems. Highly recommend to all now! God bless them and their business! They also do a tasting good beef burger with healthy veggies in the burger!
Gross - one of the worst meals I have ever had, 1 star is too much. Maybe changed ownership as I came here after reading the reviews. $26 dollars down the drain so disappointing.
Popped in to grab a toasted sandwich and ended up with a cheeseburger and fries. The fries were delicious, crisp on the outside, soft on the inside, perfectly cooked. The burger was absolutely delicious, beautifully cooked homemade meat patty, with tomato, lettuce, onion and gherkin. Very tasty indeed! And relatively inexpensive too. Overall good value, tasty, and warm friendly service. Will definitely be coming back.
Chips size was not very pleasing, neither were the fish pieces. "sausages" appears to mean deep fried hotdog frankfurters here which is a bit too weird for me to want to order again. Chips tasted pretty good (not oil soaked/undrained). I'll have to search further afield for a go-to fish and chips to get a decent serve from. :(
