I usually love their burgers but purchased last night and my burger bun was soggy and inedible. Contacted via IG but no response

First time ordering from Burger Geek Grey Lynn and it did not disappoint! We went big – Broli burger, bacon ends & cheese croquettes, onion rings, jalapeño poppers, hot wings with honey sriracha, and large fries. The bacon ends & cheese croquettes and onion rings were the absolute MVPs – seriously next-level delicious. The fries were a bit meh, but to be fair they had a 30-minute delivery ride to survive. The Broli burger was a standout too – loved the crunch of the slaw, tangy pickles, and those juicy chicken tenders. But All in all, a super tasty feast. Can’t wait to order again.

Just moved to Grey Lynn and so thought we’d check out our local burger joint. Ordered a takeaway at 650 on a Saturday night so as expected they were quite busy. Food took nearly half an hour to be made. Ordered the jalapeño poppers (good, but quite cheesy inside - husband thought the cheese was too much and overpowering) but I enjoyed although they didn’t have the usual jalapeño kick), a large rosemary fries (yum, fries were cooked well, nice and crispy and were a good size). For the burgers we ordered the bishop and the chicken burger (standard one forget the name). The chicken burger was decidedly meh, it was a tiny thin piece of chicken that was over cooked and therefore quite dry. Burger Felt very bready. Not great. The bishop burger was much better but once again the meat was way over cooked - as it’s thin smash Patties, it meant the patty ended up quite dry and crispy. I added some lettuce to it which added a bit of juiciness. All in all it was an ok meal, not terrible but not great. Would like to try again but perhaps on a more quiet night and not at peak time as it definitely felt that their business contributed to a subpar meal

Friendly and efficient. Mainly self ordering which I always love. Tasty burgers. There was a bit too much runny liquid coming out from mine and maybe the patties needed to rest a bit longer, and unfortunately there was no chicken wings available early in the evening.

Good but not great yet - BUT it has the serious potential to be. Got the basic burger to see if it can hold its own without all the special sauces and additions and it was okay, but Angus + Wagyu meat still amenoff slightly dry at times and whilst the bun was toasted, it too didn't have quite the X factor just yet - but again, it so close! Seasoned regular sized fries were also more than enough for 1 person and overall okay, but they were over cooked - likely due to the insane amounts of orders all coming in on this Sunday night dinner rush. I feel for the guys cooking and managing the orders bc they didn't let up at all in the hour I was there dining in - did take 25 min to get it at the table, but 99% of the orders appeared to be take away (in bags). They've got 4-5 tables in the immediate area inside and I think a back patio too if you don't want to be sitting where the crowds are standing around waiting for their orders. Still worth a try for sure AND if I lived nearby I'd definitely still make the walk here routinely, but there are still some key smashed burger competitors out there that would be more worth the drive right now.

Affordable, delicious, hip and cozy place to eat! Great service, lovely vibe and very short wait for food. A great variety of burgers with great flavors. I had a beer battered chicken burger, bun was crispy decent amount of chicken and filling. Sides we ordered were Mac n cheese balls, shoestring fries and ham and cheese croquettes. We like the hams and cheese croquettes better then the Mac n cheese and although the fries were perfectly crispy we didn't enjoy the herb used to season it. Overall it was definitely worth going to. Family friendly and filling!

Top of the crop. The food here is insanely delicious. I've tried every burger and side, but I'm always amazed whenever I return for more. The wait and kitchen staff are incredibly friendly and bring great energy to the store. Beautiful lighting and decor add to the dine-in atmosphere when you come after dark. I'd give more than five stars if I could!
