The tenderloin is not tender. The soup and udon are good. Lunch special is cheap, but everything put in a bowl, a bit messy and not worth it.

Manoah in Sunnynook is our go-to place for katsu. The meat is always crispy on the outside, tender and juicy inside. They also offer a lunch special with really good pricing, making it great value. Portions are generous, and the sides like rice and salad are fresh and consistent. It is a simple, no-fuss spot, but the quality keeps us coming back. Great for a satisfying and reliable meal in the area.

Great place for a casual lunch like we did. They had a lunch special going which was $16 for a Katsu rice bowl +$3 for a side udon. I had the spicy sauce for my katsu bowl but I especially liked the miso paste they used for the alternative option as it was most likely a Nagoya Hacchou miso which is rich in flavour and has thick texture which goes great with katsu. Udon was traditional with a variety of toppings and complimentary Shichimi spice which comes with the order for people who like a bit of spice to the heartwarming dish. Waitress was great, very kind and inviting. All in all it was a generous experience for the price, flavour and service. Thanks!

Good quality Katsu served with rice, salad and miso soup. The Katsu was cooked to perfection, crispy on the outside and tender inside. The sauce as creamy and sweet, which did complement it well. The portion size was great and left full. Easy parking outside and plenty of seats around inside. Staff were friendly and the service was quick.

Been here a few times now, has become our go to place for katsu. We’ve never had a negative experience here - food is always consistent. My personal favourite is their curry udon and their katsu is always cooked deliciously. Their karaage chicken is worth a try as well, it’s always fresh and juicy. Generous portion sizes. Staff are efficient and the dining area is always clean.

Food is yummy but it’s getting more and more expensive. But that’s expected as inflation goes up. The Katsu is not oily and comes with a nice salad and various dipping sauces. Would personally like more fat but that’s just my own pretence Service is good. Staff were polite and helpful

Went out to have reasonably good dinner with family but only to be disappointed with the main dish. The pork loins were chopped to little pieces, the batter was coming right off the meat being soggy. Given them a verbal feedback but the chef couldn't be bothered. Sad to see a local favourite place losing their compassion.

Taste: 8.8/10 Decently priced menu. Clean and minimal interior, friendly staff and service. Although the price range is a bit higher than the general market serving similar type of food, the standard and quality is higher so it does feel like it is worth for what you pay. Crispy katsu batter with tender meat. The layout of the meal is nice with sauce condiment of grated wasabi, mustard and salt along with donkatsu sauce. Also inclusion miso soup and basic lettuce salad makes it well balanced and structured meal for a reasonable price.

Worth the trip to cross the harbour bridge! Very good quality and still a very reasonable price, would recommend this place. Seating might be tricky since busy, but after 1.30pm alot more tables became free.
