I ordered chicken biryani and was shocked by the portion size and it was extremely small and not worth the price at all. It honestly felt like a kids’ portion. The presentation and overall value were poor, and it did not meet even basic expectations for a proper biryani. I wouldn’t recommend this dish and won’t be ordering it again.
I normally order from this fried chicken place through uber eats I ordered a Pack One which was 5 pieces of chicken. Now when i received my order the chickens burned and they were so dry it looks like they’ve been lying there all day. Chicken was so dry and they were small. I am really disappointed. No one wants to eat that stuff
I initially had a great experience with Birkdale Takeaways starting last year. However, my last three orders have been disappointing due to hygiene concerns. The first two had hair in the curry, and the most recent one contained a housefly in the curry and an insect in the rice. I reported this to the staff, and I hope they take serious steps to improve cleanliness and food safety. While the food itself has been good, hygiene is a top priority, and I believe regular checks by food safety officers would be beneficial to ensure proper standards are met."
We ordered a biryani, but what we received was nothing more than bland fried rice with chicken—an outright scam. Disgusting and completely intentional fraud. When we called to address the issue, the so-called “great chef” who prepared it not only refused to acknowledge his mistake but also insulted us, suggesting we didn’t know what biryani was. To make matters worse, he even questioned whether we were intoxicated. The food was absolute garbage, and the staff—especially that chef—clearly have no idea how to handle complaints, let alone provide decent customer service. This was not just bad food; it was a deliberate rip-off. Caution to everyone: Don’t waste your money or time here, whānau.
Wow! We really enjoyed our Indian takeaway meal from here. I don't often leave reviews but the food they served is delicious and such good value for money. Tandoori chicken and pork bhuna hit the spot! I haven't eaten a good Indian meal on the shore but this changes that! We will surely be back :)
I ordered via Uber eats. I ordered a Chicken Tikka Masala and I was very disappointed, it tasted like a packet sauce curry and I could’ve cooked it myself. This was late in the night (3am ish) so maybe that has something to do with it.
The chips was overcooked.. chicken was so hard to eat.. they charge extra $1 for hot sauce. They didn't even put much sauce.
WOW! This food tastes like the food we had in India. Rich and complex curries, so delicious. This is the real deal. We had the Indian style butter chicken, which is exactly what we’ve been looking for. Not too sweet! Perfect! And the fish masala. The fish was fresh and the curry was rich and smoky. We always choose hot and it was definitely hot! Yum!!! A++++++
Had the butter chicken, if you like your butter chicken to be on the tomatoey side rather than the sweet side, you’ll like this place, not my preferred local but the pricing is very good and the naan bread is pretty decent. Realistically 3.5/5 but that could just be personal preference so rounding up to 4
