   Never Have I ever had a domburi so crispy and delicious and fresh for $12.99. I absolutely love the options of how the chicken is cooked as well as the different condiments that go on top the lovely owner explained all the different kinds and which ones went best with rice and salad I really appreciate the attention to details. It was an unexpected lunch meal but I am so grateful that we chose to go here because it was so delicious and hit the spot. The portions were very generous and I will very much be going again another time to try all the other favours of chicken

   We’ve made it a bit of a tradition to visit Chunky Chook weekly or at least fortnightly. It’s truly become our go-to comfort food spot. Their fried chicken is the ultimate treat: super juicy on the inside and perfectly crispy on the outside. It reminds us so much of Jollibee’s Chicken Joy, which is why we’ve been raving about it to our fellow Filipinos who are missing that nostalgic flavour from home. What makes the experience even better is the warm hospitality. The owner, is hands-down one of the friendliest people we’ve come across. He’s always so pleasant, welcoming, and genuinely kind. You can tell he really cares about his customers. Our favourite combo is the Dinner Meal (fried chicken with rice and mayo). If you’re craving a taste of home or just love properly done fried chicken, Chunky Chook is an absolute must-try.

   Wow. This place truly was so so wonderful. I was visiting from out of the country and was unsure what to order. The owner was so helpful and kind. Truly a wonderful experience. In addition, the food was delicious!!! While in new Zealand I visited Auckland, Christchurch, Rotorua, Wellington, and Dunedin, and this was one of my favorite places I stoped to eat. Wonderful family owned restaurant. Definitely try the donburi.

   Chunky Chook makes some of the best crunchy fried chicken in the West! Reminds me of other chicken places in town, but closer to home (and just as good, if not better!). Their chicken is really juicy and tender, with a really crisp battered crust. I do enjoy the flavours they bring to both the chicken patties (especially their spicy chicken burger) and the chips. Subtle but noticeable. Always a great choice for lunch or dinner, and the amazing team there make it worthwhile.

   Love chicken wings? Then this is the place to go. Their chicken wings are different from anywhere else. Not crumbed, but battered, crispy battered. Better than KFC's Wicked Wings and I'm pretty sure you I heard someone order the wings with spicy seasoning. I will try this next time. Give these guys a go and check our their side dishes as well. Tso's chicken?! Here in Auckland? I'm trying that as well next time.
