   In my 25+ years living in NZ I have never been made to feel such blatant racism like we did from the old man who runs this place. My husband and I were in awe of the items in the store and were actually wanting to buy a few of his furniture namely the dresser , drawers with matching bed sides and another drawer which would have earned this man over $2000 today. But everytime we touched something whether it was a draw a vase or a trinket he kept looking at us as if we were going to break or steal something. At first we thought that maybe we were misreading his behaviour but when he actually interacted with us when we were checking to see if the keys to one buffer cabinet actually worked his xenophobic behaviour towards us was extremely evident and very disappointing , we couldn't get out of there quick enough. His interaction with his Caucasian customers was a stark difference to how he treated us.

   I visited this place and found some amazing items. My mother-in-law was fascinated and eager to buy, but unfortunately, our experience was ruined by the rude behavior of an elderly man, possibly the owner. When we inquired about a product, his response was dismissive and unwelcoming, making us feel looked down upon. It was disappointing to walk away from a place with such great offerings due to poor customer service. Regardless of the reason, basic courtesy goes a long way—perhaps a lesson in manners would help.

   A true gem! This place and the guy who runs it. It’s full of treasures you can’t find anywhere else at crazily cheap prices. Incredible tools, crown Lynn, solid and beautiful furniture… and today he went out of his way for me. Every visit I find at least 3 things I need and at least one diamond. Places like this are few and far between (as are their honest owners with integrity.) Thanks again!

   This is a very old second hand antique shop, and I’ve finally went in and had a look. The place seems very disorganised, and it was very hard to find things. The best items are actually presented outside the shop. The owner did not give us a warm welcome like other places, and was very stone cold when answering my questions. If I have time I will pop back and have another look. I hope this place can be a bit tidier

   This is for the owner and owner only, I have spotted a dress in ur store and i simply need it, it is the dress with butterflies on it. Please i beg put it on hold for me under (Cass) and i will be there first thing on thursday when your open. I simply cannot bare the thought of someone else owning it and i must have it.

   Wonderful place - something for everyone. The owner was really nice and helpful. There's some beautiful furniture in there, among so many other things. I bought two pieces of furniture for a great price. I'll definitely visit again soon.

   Royal Oak Traders is both a great place and a dangerous place at the same time. Great in that you will find bargains to boot as I have entry time you go there. And dangerous because you never walk out with the one thing you were lol king for but a whole a lot more. Gary is super helpful and is (thankfully) very knowledgeable about all the products in the shop. Open on Thursday to Sunday with parking or the back. I would highly recommend it for a quick bargain and help the environment by recycling and upcycling what are still great products looking for a new home.

   A little treasure trove of a store. We'd often driven by but today we stopped in and were happy we did. Some great collectibles and furnishings from yester-year. Prices are very reasonable we thought. A place you can spend quite a lot time in. Here's photos of a couple of things we bought.
