I stayed at The Boulevard Hotel and was honestly surprised by how good it was for the price. For only around $100 a night, you get a clean, comfortable room with plenty of space, a good bed, and everything you need for a relaxing stay. It feels like you’re getting way more value than what you pay. The location is perfect β€” close to shops, cafes, and main attractions, so you’re never more than a few minutes away from anything. It’s convenient whether you’re here for business or just exploring the area. The staff was friendly and easy to talk to, and check-in was quick and hassle-free. Overall, The Boulevard Hotel is great if you want strong value without overpaying. I’d definitely stay again.

Pretty consistent with the other low reviews. Rooms smelt like dirty stale carpet. A/C would only stay on for an hour and just turn off by itself. The rest? Many others have commented. Staff when there, are very friendly and polite. But I feel need a lot more support from management.

You get what you pay for. It was a cheap place to stay for the Tool Concert. But honestly, it was kinda grotty. The whole place smells disgusting like old Chinese cooking, attributed to the restaurant downstairs. Our room stunk until we put the air con on and shut the windows. It's tired, it needs upgrades. The beds are pretty hard. Our shower was OK with OK pressure. Location was the best thing about it.

Possibly emergency housing place. Unsavoury people mingling outside at night and wandered in with us. Although very clean, we're sure the beds had been slept in? No utensils or plates but had a toaster & microwave. No lights except 1 red??? Bed very comfy, couch old but suitable. Quiet good shower pressure. Won't go back though.

This hotel is awful!! We stayed 3 nights, my sister and i, first room, the shower rails were rusted, there were no face cloths, only hand towels. No wifi. Stains on carpet in one room, stained vanity in the other.Only crockery, no cutlery and the glasses were dirty. We complained about the wifi and were moved which was great, however, the 2nd room, again, no face clothsStains on carpet in one room, stained vanity in the other.Only crockery, no cutlery and the glasses were dirty. Ran out of toilet paper, went to reception = closed, had to fossick around and grab toilet paper from the MENS bathroom stall, the female toilet was closed. no spares to be seen and no staff to speak of to help. Once settled and asleep, my sister was woken in the middle of the night to a complete stranger in our room, apparently grabbing a jacket she had left in the wardrobe. She was not accompanied by any staff, just had full access to our room in the middle of the night while we slept - what SECURITY???. And, the hotel is adjacent to a restaurant, which causes the reception area to always smell of food - very off-putting. Overall, cheap and NASTY!! This hotel should be an absolute last resort - only good thing is the close proximity to the Westfield Shopping mall.

This is the worst hotel I have ever stayed at. There is no one to check you in after 5 pm (make sure you have a domestic mobile phone). The safe and fridge didn't work. I had to ask twice about the fridge, and they didn't address the safe. They moved the fridge because half the powerpoint didn't work (then it froze all the contents). They spilt the contents of the fridge and clogged the toilet with the paper they used to clean up, leaving me without a toilet overnight. The heating didn't work for three days. They gave me an oil heater that was a total fire hazard (missing two legs). There was no light bulb in the beside light. The TV remote didn't work (not a smart TV as advertised). The cups were dirty. There were stains on the chairs. The blow dryer only worked on a low setting. I didn't feel safe walking back to the hotel at night from Newmarket because there were such colourful characters hanging around. The elevator is not secure (card swipe is broken). I was booked in for 2.5 weeks. I left after just a week, but tried to leave sooner. They wouldn't issue a refund going forward. DO NOT STAY HERE.

I should have read the reviews for this hotel before i booked. First impressions were unmaintained grounds, rubbish and debris around the carpark. Entering the lobby, linen bags had been left lying around, the elevator reeked of cigarettes. Carpets, and chairs in our room were badly stained. Black mould on window surrounds. The worst part of our stay was poor customer service and cleanliness: I went to the reception to ask for coffee mugs and water glasses, the lady on reception returned with the mugs and said I would need to wash them before using. When i looked at the glasses they had dust and hair in the bottom of them, I told her I couldn't clean them as there was no dish soap in my room. I ended up just taking the mugs. The one glass in our room was dirty, had dregs of previous occupants drink in it and lipstick/grease on the glass. I would not recommended this place, unless you bring your own utensils!

Really enjoyed this hotel - the rooms were very clean, spacious, the tv was huge, staff offered us complimentary late check out too. Car park is available and a bus stop is nearby to get into the city. Hot water showers and lots of room amenities too - ironing board, iron, hairdryer, hot drinks. No issues really and reasonably priced for Auckland.

Rooms vary, stayed in two different rooms. Location is great but the hotel itself feels like a bit of a shady area. The parking lot faces a highway with an overgrown area in between. If you are parking your car at the hotel I would be aware of this. The first room was faultless. It had a nice, large smart TV which had every app you ncould think of, should you have your login ready. The room was clean, big and quiet. Only Downside was the hallway from the elevator to the room door smelt awful. The second room for a similar price was not as great but still a nice room. The TV was a smaller, old plasma TV that just had a few channels but no smart features. Main issue was we found a sock and a pair of underwear in the sheets of one of the made up beds. Also behind the bed had a bunch of old cue tips. The room otherwise was very clean so I don't know how these things were possible and the hallway on this floor had no bad smell. The light switches weren't for the correct lights and there was no ironing board, just an iron.

It’s fine. Location is very good and our room was clean and tidy. However, we had to message twice and ring multiple times to finally sort out a late check in. Who knows what would have happened if we hadn’t persisted to finally get the lockbox code before arriving. Generally there doesn’t seem to be any staff around but in the end we were able to have a pleasant stay for a reasonable price. Proceed with caution!
