I’d give it no stars if I could. Booked a consult at Whanganui branch. Drove 1:5 hrs. Got there and stylist didn’t come into work. Someone else did a 10 min consult and then I booked an appointment. Drove my 1.5 hours to appt. That appointment was booked for 30 mins only when the service was a style cut and half head of foils so stylist had to move other appts around. Then had a fabulous service from Selena so I was happy to go back. Had an event to go to so I booked at Whanganui Salon for a week and a half out from event to allow plenty of time in case. That was cancelled as stylist wasn’t available and I rebooked for a week later. Then got a call to say that was cancelled so now it’s a few days before my event and I have no time left cause I’m heading to Auckland so I asked to be booked into a salon up there the day before my event. Drove up from Cambridge and 2 hours before my appt for a call to say appointment was cancelled. Absolutely ridiculous. Very very poor! I’m gutted!!
Would highly recommend Mel for short hair! I had initially had a haircut at a different vivo branch and was left feeling very unhappy with the result. I was offered a REDO with Mel and had such an amazing experience. Mel listened carefully, understood what I was looking for and offered amazing advice on styling. The branch was also warm and welcoming and the staff were very attentive. Would highly recommend Mel for short hair cuts and styling.
I couldn't recommend this salon enough, specifically my stylist Mel! I always feel so well taken care of and she has made me be able to feel so much more comfortable within the salon setting. She has helped me find a new confidence within myself through my hair, and the results are always unbelievable!! If your looking for an amazing new stylist Mel is your girl!!!
Absolutely horrible service I asked for a hair appointment on Monday because i am the maid of honor for my friends wedding, and they said no. So I suggested Sunday. And yet again they said no. They are confusing me and disrespecting me because I am a middle aged white woman. This store is absolutely RACIST. I will not book an appointment again. DO NOT BOOK HERE. I will be going to Image Hair. I HOPE YOU GET TAKEN DOWN AND FIRED. 1 star.
I had Jenny do my hair -- I got highlights and some layers done, and she did a phenomenal job. She took time to really understand what I wanted and the result went way beyond my expectations! She was so sweet and enthusiastic during the appointment and talking to her was very easy and enjoyable. She made me feel really great about my hair. I would highly recommend her to anyone.

I've been here several times before! I just had an appointment with Jenny a couple of days ago and I definitely rate it 5 stars! I got blonde highlights in my hair as well as a cut/wash/style and I walked out really happy with everything! One of my favourite things about it was the location of the salon, chill parking and big open windows made it so nice. I appreciated the care that was put in to the consultation before getting anything done to make sure I knew what I was doing. Jenny was really funny and lovely to talk to and made me feel comfortable and relaxed. Was offered tea/coffee as well. + head massage was amazing!! Thanks so much, will be back!
Had an amazing experience with Jenny! Went in to my appointment with an idea in mind for a purple/red balayage, Jenny totally nailed the colour and my hair is exactly the way I wanted it. Thank you so much Jenny for your patience and doing such an amazing job. Can't wait for our next hair colouring adventure! :)
