I went for dinner at 1860 Greytown on Saturday 28 September....we had a 7pm booking and arrived a little early. The restaurant was quiet with only one small group at another table...the waitress sat is and provided menus and water. The food was over all very good. The people I was with both had the fish of the day. This was Kingfish served with seasonal vegetables and a foam. One of the pieces of kingfish was a little bit over cooked but still tasty. I ordered jalapeΓ±o poppers and salt and pepper fried squid as some sharing plates. Both of these dishes were tasty. For the main I had the pork schnitzel which was served with a warm potato salad. Both of these elements were well cooked and very tasty. I would recommend this dish. They served local Martinborough wines... For dessert the people with me had the vanilla ice cream with caramel sauce and the apple strudel with a custard and ice cream. Both were great dishes. The aroma from the strudel was beautiful.

Outstanding customer service from the owners when we dined at their restaurant a few months ago. Delightful food, cozy and romantic private function room ambience, and reasonable pricing esp their five-course meal. Highly recommended when you visit Greytown.

Pleasant surrounds. Attentive and prompt service. The menu is not long, but there is something for everyone. Every dish we had was superb. Absolutely delicious.

Beautiful and delicious meal - highly recommend trying the Ostrich Fillet. We also had the breads, Kumera fries and the steak which were also worth ordering. Lots of gorgeous local (and Martinborough) wines to choose from. The Ladies in restaurant and Bar who served us were both really helpful and lovely.

Very nice decor and quick service. Attentive server but very casually dressed in jeans n T-shirt. Went for lunch : Hungarian goulash was tasty albeit quantity was small but cost 17$. Sticky date pudding . Was 14$ . Coffee is not recommended as made by a non barista. Overall 3.5 for taste 4/5 for value. Definitely try once. Their dinner menu has better options. Also they have a Chilean and Hungarian chef so menus change regularly and recommended to try at different times
