Rata Street Takeaway is hands down the top spot for takeaway food in Wellington. The quality is consistently excellent - crispy, golden fish and chips, generous portions, and all at a great price. We are regulars here and would definitely recommend anyone to give them a try. You certainly won't be disappointed!

ONE OF THE BEST! definitely recommend! Their food is amazing and delicious, service is a cut above and their options are so good! Friendly, lovely service, I would wait for however long it took to eat here, was well worth it! Definitely one of Wellington/ greater Wellington hidden gems!
I’ve known jet since I was little and he was in taita, he always gives a big smile and is friendly. The fish and chips is alright. The food is delicious, especially his chow mein, fried rice and egg foo young. The sweet and sour can be improved has its a bit soggy, other than that, food is high quality and would highly recommend, supporting his and his wife’s business.
People of Naenae must have bad taste cos this fish and chip store was far below what everyone gives it credit for. Sweet and sour was stale. Fried rice was not on. Hygiene when watching them cook was unbelievable I should've turned around and walked out but I always give local businesses benefit of the doubt. Should've followed my instincts. 2 stars is being generous

YOU have to check these guys out, Jet and his wife are AWESOME! They always throw in extra food, and if you have been waiting longer than usual they throw in a drink, or sauce - just a thank you gesture. This is 1 place that I don't mind waiting, their a team of 2 and they work so hard. My fav is the sweet n sour pork and lemon chicken, it's ONLY that you get, it's not topped up on a bed of rice like most other places. Menu hasn't changed much, and the hit to the pocket still super cheap, we drop in from time to time, say hi and grab a quick bite.
