   My friend is visiting from the UK so we ate at Onslow for her birthday. What a great experience - from the food to the staff, it was all 10/10. We had a variety of dishes to share, the clam was our favourite. All well worth the price.

   Such a lovely experience for my birthday with some amazing food and great service. A taste of some of the freshest ingredients that Aotearoa has to offer and presented beautifully. They even gave me a lovely little card for my birthday - nice touch. Check it out … great restaurant!

   We had a fabulous time at Onslow. We’re visiting Auckland for only a few days and made our reservations because it was across the street from our hotel. Excellent luck ! We were greeted warmly on entry, seated and all our needs attended to for the rest of the evening. Impeccable service! We started with the crayfish eclair and chicken liver parfait and fried chicken. These were fabulous! So much so they were gobbled up before I could take pictures. We like the chicken so much we ordered a second one. (The 3 of us were splitting the appetizers). For our mains we chose duck and snapper accompanied by the potatoes and salad with a local wine suggested to us. Every thing we had to eat at Onslow was fabulous.

   Our daughter just had her wedding service and dinner here, and it was absolutely fantastic. Gillian was fabulous to work with, easy to get gold of and very accommodating throughout various meetings held in preparation. The waiting staff on the night were wonderful- so friendly and cheerful. Our meal was amazing. We loved the room we hired- it was the perfect size for our party of 30, and mingling out on the deck while the couple were off for wedding photos was lovely. We truly loved our time so much- couldn't fault anything. Thankyou Thankyou Thankyou. Ps I couldn't comment on the noise level and reservation as they weren't really applicable as we weren't in the main restaurant.

   Onslow - absolutely stunning. From the ambiance, to the service and the food; incredible dining experience. Thank you so much for the thoughtful touches for my 30th, and a special thank you to the knowledgeable staff on the menu (gluten free options) and the wine recommendations. The Lebanon red wine was exquisite. The best night spent here, and we will be back!

   Tucked into a corner of an elegant old building, inside Onslow exudes modern sophistication. The room is quiet enough for conversation. The service was attentive, and the food was both creative and delicious - not always true in combination. I started with one of several gin and tonic pairings - a great selection. The crayfish eclair (one) lived up to its billing, a clever riff on a lobster roll. The salmon trolley sliced off three strips tableside with tasty accompaniments. Together they might make a light dinner. Instead of a main, I had the three sides - all good but better shared. The chocolate soufflé was excellent, and the hot buttered rum trolley was a sweet indulgence. I ate too much, and the tab was quite high, but it was a memorable fine dining experience.

   Overall great service and delicious food. The establishment feels upscale and luxurious, and provides a fine dining atmosphere even at lunch. Minor complaints: The “tuna carpaccio” was not carpaccio, more like medium rare and grey on the outside, but still tasted good. The “simple green salad” was truly rather simple, and I wouldn’t recommend it. Everything else was delicious and interesting and well presented. The starter “treats” especially are creative and delectable.

   Went to onslow for the Sunday lunch - set menu with a few adjustments as my wife is pregnant. This was no trouble at all and the lovely wait staff knew everything which was safe to eat and should be avoided. The entrees were a real highlight, the fried bread and chicken liver parfait was absolutely delicious. Great food, great service, nice drinks, we will be back. Excellent value as well 4 courses for $85 per person, we were very full at the end.
