   “Disappointing visit after previously great experiences.” We had friends visiting from Hamilton who were excited to try the proper South African crumbed mushrooms we’d enjoyed here before. Unfortunately, this visit really fell short. We arrived right at 12:30 when the store opened, but the customer service was poor. While we were trying to order, the staff member kept looking at his phone, didn’t make eye contact, and didn’t seem interested in helping. After taking our order, he told us there would be a 45-minute wait. When we asked how that was possible at opening, he said online orders took priority. When the food arrived, the crumbed mushrooms were completely different from before — darker/black mushrooms instead of the usual white button ones. They were dry and chewy, nothing like the proper South African style we’ve had here previously. The ribs were also dry and chewy. On the positive side, the calamari was tender and very well cooked. Overall, it was a disappointing experience, especially since we’ve had consistently good food in the past and wanted to share that with our friends.

   Located in the heart of St Heliers Beach township, a small local business that has the most amazing soul food. I have been here 3 times now and everytime it's been amazing with a family hospitality vibe. Check them out with there menu also attached, they also have massive family boxes available. Call them to arrange your next big family shared box, worth every dollar.

   Food are very nice. We ordered tiger prawns with rice, sirloin steak with chips, and 500g pork ribs. The store is takeaway only, we arrived 12.25 today/Friday, 5 minutes earlier than store open, but staff told someone already made orders before us and we have to wait until 1pm to pickup our order, what a busy!

   Reasonable priced foods in the current Auckland priceline. Creamy garlic mussel has great flavour, you can just have anything with that sauce! Prawns were well cooked, the shell was crisp enough to eat with peeling, and the rice underneath was soaked with the sauce and juice from the prawn. Ribs was great in portion size, though can be very saucy and sweet, I guess some people will be very happy with that... Mushrooms are also very good, though can be a bit hard when it's cold...

   The food is worth the drive. We had the ribs (packaging is awesome! Sealed and fresh) rump steak and chips & creamy garlic mussels! Will definitely be my go to for ribs!

   Epic food - what a gem. Only found out about this place, way behind on the 8 ball on this. Everything was super juicy and packed full of flavour. This is a TAKE AWAY ONLY restaurant, there are tiny seats on site but don’t expect a sit in meal. So if you order make sure you get to where you’re eating quickly, don’t want any of this stuff to go cold. Would still be good, but will taste much better when hot!
