I just visited the Michael Hill store at Newmarket and the experience was appalling. The staff member who dealt with us was blatantly rude, dismissive, and had a horrible attitude from the moment we walked in. I don’t know her name and I have no interest in knowing it. We were there to buy, not to casually wander around, yet we were treated with complete disrespect. Her behaviour was unacceptable and completely unprofessional. I was fully prepared to purchase a ring worth around $2,000, but I walked out solely because of how badly we were treated. Losing a genuine sale because of staff arrogance is embarrassing for the brand. Someone with this attitude should not be working in customer service, especially in a store that sells expensive jewellery. This was one of the worst retail experiences I’ve had.
Wonderful service from Cynthia, who welcomed both my fiancé and I warmly upon arrival. We were well accommodated in choosing our wedding bands, and had excellent service even though we were both quite indecisive. Cynthia listened to our requests and made appropriate recommendations, also kindly explaining the ongoing deals and care plans. Although we did not purchase on the day, she made an effort to follow up the next day, and service remained warm and friendly. Luckily I found a band I liked and was able to keep my option on hold. Very pleased with both product and service

I needed gold studs for myself and my daughter and headed straight to Michael Hill as it’s a brand name I can trust to provide quality products at reasonable prices. The shop in Newmarket has a very nice interior and the staff were friendly and professional. It’s the first time I’ve shopped in a proper jewellers and I will not hesitate to return in future.
I came to this store a some years ago, a person who named Paul Harris assisted me. He was very nice and helpful in finding a solution. I believe he is not here anymore. Very disappointing.
