   Loyal customer, purchasing biltong every week from this lovely place. However, the quality went downhill around 6 months ago. There are large amount of bad meat inside that cannot be chewed. I returned it once and asked to the store to check if it was a bad batch. Visited a few times more and bought the same products. I’m a frequent buyer of Scheckter’s Deli as well. Although their price is a bit higher, their meat quality is very honest. Please don’t mix with bad meat to fool the customers.

   Great store, highly recommend! Well-stocked and tidy with a good selection of South African products. Their meat products are delicious, including the droëwors, biltong and boerewors. They have delicious traditional desserts too. The lady working there today is the sweetest! She was welcoming and friendly, and very helpful with my request for a certain cut of biltong. It was so nice having a chat with her in Afrikaans, and I wish her all the best!

South African Pantry in Lower Hutt has an excellent selection of authentic South African goods, from biltong and boerewors to favorite snacks and pantry staples. The store is well-organized, clean, and the staff is super friendly. If you're craving a taste South Africa or looking to try something new, this is the place to visit!

   Just had chilli and original biltong. Original is great, eye fillet beautiful flavour and sliced nicely. Chilli one, $11/kg more to find it only salt and no chilly, plus the cuts were chunky, not sliced and half fat! So dissapointing! I feel ripped off! Would not recommend! Not no mention health and safety of having open boxes all over the floor you have to jump over. I hope you re train your standards of Palmerston North store, as this store is a joke and would not recommend. Such a shame
